PDS Tech Commercial is looking for a Production Supervisor to lead daily operations on air-cooled chiller assembly lines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is based in Charlotte, NC, with 1st and 2nd shift options and a pay rate of $30.00–$32.00/hour.

You will champion safety, mentor frontline teams, and collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to meet production targets while driving continuous improvement and lean initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations across multiple air-cooled chiller assembly lines.
• Champion a zero-incident culture and ensure EHS compliance.
• Coach hourly operators and drive 5S, safety walks, and hazard mitigation.
• Monitor metrics (safety, FPY, defects, labor efficiency) and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve issues.
• Lead kaizen and continuous improvement efforts and optimize line balance.

Make an Impact

As a Production Supervisor, you will lead daily operations across multiple air-cooled chiller assembly lines in a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment.

Lead Safe, Effective Operations

• Champion a zero-incident culture and ensure compliance with EHS standards.
• Conduct daily 5S and safety walks, identify hazards, and drive immediate corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Reinforce safe behaviors through consistent coaching and accountability.

Deliver Production Results

• Lead multiple air-cooled chiller assembly lines to achieve daily and weekly production targets.
• Allocate labor strategically to meet takt time and respond to changing product demands.
• Identify, escal, and remove constraints affecting throughput in real time.
• Ensure effective shift handoffs and clear communication of priorities.
• Monitor and drive key metrics, including safety, FPY, defects, production attainment, and labor efficiency.

Drive Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure adherence to standard work and established quality processes.
• Lead containment and resolution of defects in partnership with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering.
• Use structured problem-solving tools, including 5 Whys and Fishbone analysis, to eliminate recurring issues.
• Support layered process audits and ensure findings are addressed.
• Lead and support kaizen events and daily continuous improvement activities.
• Sustain and continuously improve 5S standards.
• Partner with Industrial Engineering to optimize line balance, flow, and standard work.

Develop High-Performing Teams

• Directly lead and develop hourly operators and team leads.
• Establish clear expectations and provide meaningful, consistent feedback.
• Coach employees and manage performance effectively.
• Build workforce capability through training, cross-training, and skills development.
• Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, teamwork, and ownership.

Collaborate Across the Business

• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and other teams to quickly resolve production issues.
• Monitor material availability and elevate shortages that could affect production.
• Support new product introductions, equipment ramp-ups, and process changes.
• Lead daily tier meetings and ensure issues are tracked, prioritized, and resolved.
• Maintain accurate production reporting and effective visual management.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or operations leadership
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Ability to effectively lead frontline teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with lean manufacturing principles, including standard work, 5S, kaizen, and visual management
• Experience leading teams in a high-mix, variable manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with brazing, leak testing, electrical systems, and final test processes
• Experience using MES systems and production tracking tools
• Demonstrated ability to identify problems, determine root causes, and drive sustainable solutions

Pay Details

$30.00 to $32.00 per hour
