Job summary

Teasdale Latin Foods in Carrollton, TX seeks a Production Supervisor to lead a team and ensure efficient, safe manufacturing of high‑quality food products according to schedules and standards.

You will plan production activities, coordinate with maintenance, QA, and logistics, train staff in SOPs and safety, monitor quality, maintain records, and report performance metrics to the Production/Unit Manager. Experience in food manufacturing and lean practices is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years in a supervisory/lead role in food manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of food production processes, food safety regulations, and quality management systems.
  • Leadership and team management; ability to motivate a diverse workforce.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making with continuous improvement focus.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, and process improvement tools.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and production management software.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of production workers, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management, to achieve production targets and quality objectives.
  • Plan and coordinate production activities, including resource allocation, equipment setup, and workflow optimization, to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor production processes and quality control measures to ensure compliance with food safety regulations, GMP, and company standards.
  • Collaborate with the Production/Unit Manager to develop and implement production schedules, production plans, and process improvements to meet customer demand and production goals.
  • Conduct regular inspections of production areas, equipment, and facilities to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, or quality issues and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Train production workers on proper operating procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to production specifications.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including production reports, inventory levels, and quality control documentation, to track performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all production staff, including proper use of PPE and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as maintenance, quality assurance, and logistics, to address production-related issues and ensure smooth operation of the production process.
  • Provide regular reports to the Production/Unit Manager on production performance, including productivity, yield, downtime, and quality metrics.

Overview

The Production Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing the manufacturing processes within the production facility. Reporting directly to the Production or Unit Manager, this position is responsible for leading a team of production workers to ensure the efficient and safe production of high‑quality food products in accordance with production schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in food manufacturing or production operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of food production processes, food safety regulations, and quality management systems.
  • Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse workforce.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with cross‑functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, 5S methodology, and other process improvement tools.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office Suite and production management software.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and production demands.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Certification in food safety (e.g., HACCP, SQF) and production management is a plus.
