Job summary

Hanon Systems is seeking Production Supervisors to lead manufacturing teams on the production floor. You will ensure schedules are met, supervise activities, and drive safety, quality, and cost controls while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

You will mentor operators, coordinate line transfers, and enforce procedures to maintain high-quality output and efficient line performance across shifts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associates degree preferred for advancement or specialization.
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills required.
  • Commitment to safety, quality and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day manufacturing activities to meet production schedules and goals.
  • Identify and resolve production issues; collaborate with maintenance or engineering to minimize downtime.
  • Communicate issues to plant leadership and support functions.
  • Ensure compliance with Hanon Systems policies and guidelines.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts and support 6S and audits.

Job description

Production Supervisors must provide strong leadership and effectively manage team members, materials, equipment, process, and cost for the team(s). Production Supervisors are also required to focus on Safety, Quality, Cost, JIT requirements, and productivity. Production supervisors are also responsible to lead and enforce all of the company¡¦s policies and procedures while being present on the production floor supporting the team. The roles and responsibilities listed are not meant to be all inclusive. The needs of the company may require individuals to perform other functions.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Supervise day-to-day manufacturing activities to ensure production schedules and goals are met.
  • Manage and quickly identify production issues (equipment failures, quality issues) and implement effective solutions. Collaborate with maintenance or engineering to eliminate downtime.
  • Regularly communicate issues to plant leadership, support functions, and the team
  • Support, participate, and ensure compliance with Hanon Systems policies and guidelines
  • Manage production workflows, balancing tasks among team members to optimize efficiency.
  • Use progressive discipline to track problematic areas and update your manager / HR as needed of any ongoing issues.
  • Recommend and assist in implementing measures to improve production methods, equipment, product quality, and efficiency through daily meetings and production reports
  • Perform investigations and report all incidents when they occur (spills, accidents, poor performance)
  • Monitor attendance, discipline, and performance evaluations.
  • Resolving employee conflicts and operational issues.
  • Support and promote all initiatives of continuous improvement
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly audits as needed. Perform 6S weekly audit with team lead.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team members to suggest process enhancements.
  • Ability to embrace a diverse working culture
  • Contributes to team effort by leading the communication to the line, such as pre shift meetings, assist in delegation of work assignments, training and follow up with new hires.
  • Training is being done on all new hires and training sheets filled out.
  • Prioritize workload to optimize line efficiency and man-power by coordinating line transfers and breaks when needed and moving operators around or to different lines as needed to meet goal.
  • Be present on production floor 85% of shift to support all team members.
  • Develop, coach, and motivate all production team members.
  • Promote the importance of Quality and enforce on production floor daily.
  • Ensuring products meet quality standards and work instruction followed.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration.
  • Ensure an environmental health and safe work environment conditions by complying with all Hanon Systems Integrated Management System procedures, standards, and regulations.
  • Maintain white board graphs for communication reason.
  • Maintain training matrix for lines and injection to support all operators trained.
  • Be professional at all times on the production floor and respectful.
  • All other duties assigned
Years of Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership position
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associates Degree preferred

  • Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time
  • Must show proficiency in the operation of all necessary equipment
  • Must be able to work overtime to cover other shifts as needed
