Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a wood products team at the Camden Plywood facility in Texas. You will guide the crew to achieve safe, reliable, and efficient operations while meeting daily production goals.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, proficiency with MS Office, and a commitment to working across shifts with strict safety adherence. CMMS experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with Word, Excel, Outlook and PC-based reporting systems.
• Willingness to work any shift including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Commitment to safety rules and proper PPE use.

Responsibilities

• Supervise production efforts to improve EHS, reliability, quality, and costs.
• Lead a 15–30+ person team to meet daily goals in a continuous plant.
• Promote safety as a core value and drive hazard elimination.
• Coordinate with MPO processes to optimize manufacturing value.
• Develop the team, coach employees, and drive ownership.
• Monitor product quality and guide crew for efficiency and waste reduction.
• Troubleshoot production issues to maintain flow and equipment uptime.
• Provide safety training and job-specific coaching to crew members.
• Enter data and generate reports using PC-based systems.
• Work in an environment with noise and non-climate-controlled areas.

What You Will Do

• Supervise and coordinate production efforts that drive improvement in all associated work processes affecting EHS, compliance, reliability, quality, production, and costs.
• Lead a production team (typically 15-30+ employees) to meet daily operating goals in a continuous manufacturing environment.
• Continuously drive safety as a core value for the business by promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively eliminate hazards.
• Support the Machine Paced Operation (MPO) process system to align and optimize the manufacturing enterprise in delivering value to the business.
• Facilitate team development and growth, employee skill development, problem-solving and resolution, building employee commitment and ownership, and holding employees accountable.
• Monitor product quality and provide direction to crew members to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
• Assist with troubleshooting and solving production issues to maintain equipment reliability and production flow.
• Provide safety training and job-specific coaching to crew members.
• Complete required data entry responsibilities and generate reports through PC-based production reporting systems.
• Work in a manufacturing plant environment, including extended periods in noisy, non-climate-controlled areas.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Two (2) or more years of leadership experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn various PC-based production reporting systems applications.
• Must be flexible to work any assigned shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require
• Must be able and willing to work safely and adhere to all safety rules and regulations, including wearing and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

What Will Put You Ahead

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher, with a preference in a technical or business discipline.
• Three (3) or more years of supervisory or leadership experience in an industrial manufacturing or military environment.
• Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience in the wood products industry.
• Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
