Job summary

U.S. Pipe and Foundry in Bessemer, AL, is seeking a 1st Shift Production Supervisor to lead hourly staff, drive daily targets, and uphold safety and quality.

The role involves managing operations, solving production issues, and coordinating with maintenance for equipment reliability. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of supervisory experience in heavy manufacturing, with a background in ductile iron or foundry work preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years supervisory or management experience in a heavy fast paced manufacturing and/or construction environment is required.
• High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical) or Manufacturing and/or related field desired.
• Ability to lead and direct workforce, to achieve a technically competent and highly motivated workforce, ensuring all necessary training and development to promote skill development, quality, safety, and compliance are met.
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience is a plus.
• Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Responsibilities

• Leadership: Under the direction of the Production Manager, lead and direct the work of hourly production employees to achieve daily production targets while maintaining a high level of safety and quality.
• Production Oversight: Manage daily operations, monitor workflows, problem-solve, and implement process improvements to meet production standards and targets.
• Mechanical Operations: Provide support and hands on maintenance of mechanical equipment/tooling in partnership with maintenance supervisors to optimize equipment and processes. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and assist with repairs to ensure smooth production.
• Safety and Compliance: Champion safety programs, conduct safety audits and reinforce a culture of workplace safety and accountability ensuring compliance with all safety regulations
• Collaboration: Work closely with operations/plant leadership to meet key performance indicators (KPIs), continuous improvement initiatives, safety, and quality standards.

We are looking to hire a 1stShift Production Supervisor at our Bessemer, AL location. As a Production Supervisor at U.S. Pipe and Foundry, a successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing operations and workforce to meet daily manufacturing goals while ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-quality operation
