Hendrickson seeks a production supervisor to oversee hourly staff and manage manufacturing and distribution processes on the plant floor. You will lead shift meetings, enforce safety protocols, and drive continuous improvement while meeting production schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Business Administration or Engineering or the equivalent in practical experience and/or specialized training preferred.
  • 1-year experience in a leadership/supervisory role.
  • 1-3 Years Practical Experiences In a Manufacturing Environment Preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes.
  • Working knowledge of various safety programs and OSHA regulations.
  • Familiarity with Quality systems and processes.

  • Ensure training and tools are available for staff; hold them accountable.
  • Supervise production to meet customer specs and minimize scrap and delays.
  • Participate in problem solving to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Oversee safety by ensuring PPE and safety devices are used and incidents reported.

Position Purpose

Oversee plant operations in the areas of leadership and supervision of hourly employees and production, manufacturing, and distribution of products. Identify problems and develop plans to continuously improve uses/processes of material, machines, and employee resources. Ensure and promote safety, success, teamwork, and quality in the work environment.

Oversee plant operations in the areas of leadership and supervision of hourly employees and production, manufacturing, and distribution of products. Identify problems and develop plans to continuously improve uses/processes of material, machines, and employee resources. Ensure and promote safety, success, teamwork, and quality in the work environment.

Essential Functions
  • Provides supervision to hourly employees on assigned shift.
  • Track attendance, schedule vacations, ensures compliance to the employee handbook, etc.
  • Conduct daily shift meetings to keep employees aware of production levels, delivery performance, quality, overtime, upcoming events, etc.
  • Supervise daily staffing and output levels to meet or exceed planned productivity levels.
  • Motivate, provide clear direction, and set expectations for new and existing hourly and temporary personnel.
  • Ensure that all hourly and temporary personnel have the training needed, the tools required and are held accountable to set expectations.
  • Supervise the production of parts to meet or exceed customer / design specifications to be at, or below, planned customer concern and scrap levels.
  • Participate in problem solving teams to identify root cause and corrective actions to resolve quality related issues.
  • Supervise the daily production of parts according to the production schedules (schedule compliance) to minimize past due orders and maximize on time delivery.
  • Ensure employee safety by ensuring all safety devices are in use and the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn at all times.
  • Report all accidents / near misses to the operations manager and safety manager within 24 hours. Participate in the completion of the accident investigation / report.
  • Assist with implementing and sustaining corrective actions Ensure associates within a specific production area attend all safety related training events.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within a specific production area.
  • Maintain 5S initiatives within production area responsibilities.
  • Continually search for process improvements to improve Quality, Productivity, Delivery, Safety and Cost metrics.
Education and Training

Associate Degree in Business Administration or Engineering or the equivalent in practical experience and/or specialized training preferred

Minimum Qualifications

1-year experience in a leadership/supervisory role.

1-3 Years Practical Experiences In a Manufacturing Environment Preferred.

Demonstrated ability to improve processes.

Working knowledge of various safety programs and OSHA regulations.

Familiarity with Quality systems and processes.

Physical Demands

Must be able to remain in a stationary position occasionally.

Frequent need to move about inside plant and office designated areas.

Minimal need to position self in low or tight spaces.

Occasional movements of hands, wrists, or fingers such as typing, filing, and writing.

Environmental Conditions

Non temperature-controlled manufacturing work environment with adequate lighting and ventilation.
