Qualifications

  • Lead an operational team in the production of solid wood lumber products in a safe and efficient manner and take ownership of safety and quality processes.
  • Facilitate team development and communication, employee skill development, problem-solving and resolution.
  • Build employee commitment and ownership and hold employees accountable.
  • Drive safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively eliminate hazards.
  • Monitor product quality and provide direction to crew members to maximize efficiency.
  • Promote employee involvement, provide coaching, feedback, and direction as required.
  • Assist with troubleshooting production issues.
  • Provide safety training to crew members and deliver training materials in a meaningful approach.
  • Provide coaching and performance management.
  • Complete data entry responsibilities and generate reports timely.

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Production Supervisor at our Lumber mill located in Albany, GA. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for leading a wood products production team of 15-20 employees to work injury-free/incident free in a continuous manufacturing environment consistent with our Principle-Based Management™ philosophy and framework. The Production Supervisor is also responsible for supervising and coordinating production efforts that result in sustained improvement in all associated work processes including environmental, health & safety (EHS) compliance, reliability, quality, production, and costs.

Our Team

Established in 2020, Albany Lumber has grown into a dynamic operation powered by a team of approximately 150 skilled individuals. Using the industry’s latest technology, Albany Lumber receives approximately 180 log trucks a day and can produce approximately 300 million board feet of lumber each year. The company produces a diverse range of high-quality lumber products, including 2×4 and 2×6 boards essential to modern construction. Each piece begins with sustainably harvested Southern yellow pine. What You Will Do

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience in industrial manufacturing or in military leadership role
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must work a flexible work schedule
What Will Put You Ahead

  • Supervisory experience in wood product manufacturing or processing
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
