Job summary

Acumed LLC in Addison, TX, is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a hands-on manufacturing team focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. A strong machining background provides credibility to guide machining operations, with Lean and 5S practices driving continuous improvement.

You will manage attendance, coaching, and performance while collaborating with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Maintenance to remove production barriers and ensure SOPs are followed.

Qualifications

  • Five+ years of hands-on CNC machining in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to build, lead, motivate, develop, and hold a high-performing team accountable.
  • Direct supervisory experience in machining/manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Strong working knowledge of machining operations, production flow, tooling, equipment utilization, and common production constraints.
  • Proven ability to coach employees, manage performance, address difficult situations, and build credibility and trust with frontline employees.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with ability to identify root causes, remove barriers, and drive issues to resolution.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts including 5S, standard work, waste elimination, visual management, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools, such as Power BI, to analyze manufacturing performance and support data-driven decision-making preferred

Responsibilities

  • Builds, leads, and develops a high-performing team by setting clear expectations, creating accountability, recognizing performance, and addressing performance gaps consistently.
  • Maintains a strong presence on the production floor, actively engaging employees and quickly identifying and resolving issues that impact production.
  • Coaches and develops employees through regular feedback, one-on-one discussions, cross-training, skills development, and performance management.
  • Monitors machine utilization, earned hours, labor efficiency, quality, and delivery performance and drives corrective actions when goals are not met.
  • Identifies bottlenecks, equipment issues, and workflow constraints and partners with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Maintenance to remove roadblocks.
  • Ensures employees are properly trained and consistently follow SOPs, Work Instructions, standard work, safety requirements, and established manufacturing processes.
  • Promotes continuous improvement and employee involvement using Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S, standard work, and problem solving.
  • Supports new product introductions, process changes, equipment implementation, validation activities, and manufacturing improvement projects.
  • Develops team capability and future leaders by identifying talent, expanding responsibilities, and creating development opportunities.
  • Manages attendance, timekeeping, performance reviews, coaching, recognition, disciplinary actions, and other supervisory responsibilities.
  • Ensures compliance with Company policies, Quality System requirements, ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Leads through change by clearly communicating expectations and purpose, gaining employee engagement, and ensuring improvements are sustained.

Job Scope

The Production Supervisor is a hands-on manufacturing leader responsible for building and leading a high-performing team while achieving safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives. The Production Supervisor maintains a strong frontline presence, sets clear expectations, develops employees, drives accountability, and works with cross-functional support teams to remove production barriers. A strong machining background is required to provide technical credibility, understand manufacturing challenges, and effectively lead machining operations. The Production Supervisor promotes continuous improvement, teamwork, 5S, and compliance with Quality System, ISO, Company, and safety requirements.

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:30am-4:30pm

  • Ability to use production metrics such as earned hours, labor efficiency, machine utilization, throughput, quality, and on-time delivery to drive performance.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, time-management, and follow-through skills.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems; SAP experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools, such as Microsoft Power BI, to analyze manufacturing performance and support data-driven decision-making preferred
