Job summary

Pilgrim’s in Texas is seeking a Production Superintendent to lead the production/processing supervisors on a single shift, ensuring cost-efficient, on-time manufacturing of quality products. The role requires willingness to work a 2nd shift.

You will direct operations, manage budgets, coordinate with plant functions, train supervisors, and drive continuous improvement. A high school diploma and at least two years of management experience in food/poultry processing are required; bilingual

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/GED; College Degree in related field required.
• Experience: Management experience in a food or poultry processing facility with at least two years directly related experience.
• Skills: Effective communication, capable of independent decision making, basic computer knowledge, strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and proficient in MS Office software applications.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Production Superintendent

GENERAL SUMMARY: This position directs the production/processing supervisors across several departments on a single shift to assure cost-effective, on-time manufacture of quality products. Must be willing to work 2nd shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Directs production operations and personnel to meet established production and quality control standards, to control budget and costs, and to provide data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products produced.
• Establishes short-term activities directed toward production continuity and balance such as shift schedules, ensuring requisition of materials, machine loading, grievance resolution, and equipment maintenance.
• Coordinates and integrates with other plant function areas to ensure support in attaining output, productivity, and quality.
• Selects, organizes, trains, and motivates production labor force to ensure consistent attainment of production schedules at optimum productivity and cost levels.
• Recommends improvements in production flow or methods.
• Ensures effective use of operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and to improve product quality.
• Counsels supervisors as needed on job performance and departmental efficiencies.
• Recommends modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.

What You’ll Need

• Education: High School Diploma/GED; College Degree in related field required.
• Experience: Must have previous management experience in a food or poultry processing facility, including at least two years of directly related experience. Directly related work experience may be used as a year‑for‑year substitute for the educational requirement.
• Skills: Effective communication both orally and in writing, capable of independent decision making, must have basic computer knowledge, strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and proficient in MS Office software applications.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
