Job summary

Pacific Ridge School seeks a Production Stage Manager for the Upper School Musical. From Nov 4, 2026, to Mar 20, 2027, you will collaborate with the Arts Department Producer and the director to stage manage the production.

You will maintain the script, record blocking and cues, issue calls, train student assistants, and ensure a safe, inclusive environment for all cast and crew, from rehearsals through final performances.

Qualifications

• Prior stage management experience in professional or educational settings.
• Students pursuing degrees in stage management or related field encouraged.
• Professional experience and/or advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for the stage management of the upper-school musical.
• Attend production meetings with the director and Arts Department Producer.
• Train student assistant stage managers and delegate tasks as needed.
• Maintain the production script with blocking and cues; record notes.
• Disseminate schedules and reports to cast and staff.
• Oversee care of the stage, rehearsal space, props, costumes, and set pieces.
• Issue calls to actors and run crew and call all cues during performances.

## Production Stage Manager (Upper School Musical)At Pacific Ridge School, our mission statement drives all of our work: *In a community that fosters academic excellence, ethical responsibility and global engagement, Pacific Ridge School prepares students for college and a purposeful life.***Essential Duties and Responsibilities*** From November 4, 2026, through March 20, 2027, collaborate with the Arts Department Producer and the director of the play to stage manage the upper-school musical, TBD* Take full responsibility for the stage management of the upper-school musical.* Attend production meetings as mutually agreed upon by the director of the play, the Arts Department Producer, and all relevant design personnel* When applicable, manage and guide the training of student assistant stage managers, providing detailed, effective instruction and delegating responsibilities as appropriate* At all times, strive to ensure and cultivate safe, equitable, inclusive, pleasant, and professional educational and working environments for the students and production staff* In close collaboration with the director of the play, help to maintain order and timeliness during rehearsals and performances* Create, manage, and maintain the production script, recording all blocking and cues* Record all rehearsal notes, line notes, cues, and blocking* Disseminate the production schedule and rehearsal/performance reports to the cast, director, Arts Department Producer, and production staff* In coordination with the Arts Department Producer, director, and designers, oversee the proper care and management of the stage, rehearsal space, props, costumes, set pieces, stagehands, and any other production elements* Issue calls to the actors and run crew prior to and during performances and facilitate communication between the front- and back-of-house staff* Call all cues during the run of performances* Ensure the continuity of performances**Production Information*** **Director** Heidi Handelsman* **Rehearsal** **Venue** PRS Blackbox Theatre (6269 El Fuerte St, Carlsbad, CA 92009)* **Performance** **Venue** Ritz Theater (301 E Grand Ave, Escondido, CA 92025)* **Rehearsal** **Times** Typically Monday thru Friday, 3:15-5:15pm* **Auditions** November 18-20, 2026* **First** **Rehearsal** December 7, 2026* *No rehearsals December 18, 2026, thru January 3, 2027; and February 13-21, 2027** **Tech/Dress Rehearsal** March 9-12, 2027* **Dress Rehearsal** March 15-17, 2027* **Performances** March 18-20, 2027## Qualifications**Minimum requirements*** Prior stage management experience in professional or educational setting required* Students currently pursuing degrees in stage management or related field strongly considered* Professional experience and/or advanced degree in stage management or related field preferred**Compensation**$18 per hour with a total earning potential of $6,200.
