Job summary

FASTSIGNS is seeking a full-time Sign Production Specialist with graphic design experience in Houston, TX. You will follow layouts, prepare substrates, weed vinyl, and operate printing equipment to deliver high-quality signs.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of sign production and design experience, are comfortable lifting heavy items, and can meet tight deadlines. Training opportunities and competitive pay are offered by the franchisee.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in sign production, installation and graphic design preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to lift heavy items and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Follow layouts to place vinyl or full-color graphics on substrates.
• Prepare substrates: cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, etc.
• Weed excess vinyl and operate/maintain printers, laminators, saws, routers.
• Perform quality checks by reading Work Orders and proofing for errors.
• Finish with laminating/mounting; maintain storage areas.
• Report inventory levels and assist inventory management.
• Signage installs and use Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop for design.

Fastsigns of Humble, TX is hiring for a full-time Sign Production Specialist with graphic design experience to join our team!

A Successful FASTSIGNS Sign Production Specialist with sign graphic design experience Will:

• Follow a layout to place computer-cut vinyl or full-color graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium
• Prepare substrates for vinyl application to include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, etc.
• Weed excess vinyl from computer-cut images. Weeding techniques vary with size, type of vinyl, and complexity of images
• Operate and maintain printer, laminator, saw, router.
• Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-production by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards
• Perform finishing operations such as laminating and/or mounting of printed pieces. Must be able to lift heavy items.
• Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the center manager/production manager or franchisee.
• Clean and maintain storage areas
• Must have knowledge of graphic design and proficient with Adobe illustrator, Photoshop etc.
• Perform signage installs

Ideal Qualifications for FASTSIGNS Sign Production Specialist with sign graphic design experience

• 1-2 years of experience in sign production, installation and graphic design is preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (4 hours or more)
• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
• Flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back and forth hand motion to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate
• Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, high-quality work
• Ability to use light power equipment
• A sign shop experience is A +
