Job summary

FASTSIGNS Parker/Castle Rock is seeking a full-time Sign Production Specialist in Whittier, CA. You’ll create and modify vinyl graphics, prepare substrates, and operate printers, ensuring high-volume, high-quality output.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in sign production, a high school diploma, the ability to stand for long periods, lift 50+ lbs, and proficiency with hand/power tools and Adobe Illustrator. Training and bonus opportunities available.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in sign production. Experience in install preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (4 hours or more)
• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
• Flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back and forth hand motion to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate
• Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, high-quality work
• Ability to use light power equipment
• Experience in Adobe Illustrator preferred
• Ability to prioritize jobs, multi-task, and work autonomously
• Clean driving record
• Proficiently uses hand and power tools

Responsibilities

• Create computer-generated full-color graphics and/or vinyl output for substrates.
• Modify designs from customer drawings or files for output to media.
• Maintain customer logo library and convert graphic files.
• Place vinyl or graphic images on substrates following a layout.
• Prepare substrates for vinyl application (cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning).
• Weed excess vinyl from images; adapt techniques by size/type.
• Operate and maintain printers.
• Quality QA before/after production against Work Orders.
• Finish by laminating and mounting printed pieces.
• Report inventory levels and reorder stock to manager or franchisee.

A Successful FASTSIGNS Sign Production Specialist Will

• Create computer-generated full-color graphics and/or vinyl output that can be printed and mounted to a substrate or weeded, cut and applied
• Complete or modify designs from customer drawings, files, or exact output of customer-provided design for output to media
• Maintain customer logo library; convert graphic files
• Follow a layout to place computer-cut vinyl or full-color graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium
• Prepare substrates for vinyl application to include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, etc
• Weed excess vinyl from computer-cut images. Weeding techniques vary with size, type of vinyl, and complexity of images
• Operate and maintain printer(s)
• Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-production by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards
• Perform finishing operations such as laminating and/or mounting of printed pieces
• Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the center manager/production manager or franchisee.
• Clean and maintain storage areas
• Offsite sign and print media installations

Compensation: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
