Job summary

CS Power Systems, a division of Canadian Solar, seeks a Production Shift Supervisor 1 to lead a production shift on rotating days and nights. You will drive safety, quality, and efficiency while coordinating with other departments to meet objectives.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in supervision, familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma, and strong communication and leadership skills for a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This on-site role offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in a supervisor/lead role.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Six Sigma.
  • Effective communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Able to work continental shifts (days/nights).
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate a production shift.
  • Monitor daily product and process concerns.
  • Assist in troubleshooting technical problems.
  • Ensure staff are trained and qualified before operating machinery.
  • Lead safety and quality compliance.
  • Set daily/weekly objectives and report performance.

Description

The Production Shift Supervisor 1 (Rotating Shifts) is responsible forsupervision and coordination duties of production staff in such areas as quality, customer satisfaction, scheduling, production of shift activity reports, ensuring machinery and equipment are safe, and employees are trained and qualified, and other duties as required to be carried out in a safe,reliable,and efficient manner.The Production Supervisor must perform a range of duties supporting managers and directing shift staff to ensure profitable business operations.

Responsibilities
  • Supervisesand coordinatesa productionshift
  • Must be ok with Rotating Shifts every 3 months, days and nights
  • Monitorsand respondsto daily product and processconcerns
  • Assistsin the troubleshooting of technicalproblems
  • Ensuresemployees are trained and qualifiedbefore working on machinery andequipment
  • Providesleadership by instilling team goals and objectiveswhilefosteringpositive staffrelationships
  • Coordinateswithoperational departmentsto achieve companygoals
  • Communicatesresults and issues to shiftstaff
  • Ensurescompliance with company policies andprocedures
  • Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them toemployees
  • Submit reports on performance andprogress
  • Identify issues in efficiency and suggestimprovements
  • Enforce strict safety guidelines and companystandards
  • Set goalsfor performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company’s plans and vision and communicate them tosubordinates
  • Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegatedtasks
  • Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback andcoaching
  • Completesother duties and projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • 1 - 3 years of experience
  • Promote from level I or Leader II
  • Experience with applications of Lean Manufacturing philosophies, TPM, or Six Sigma
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Able to work on the continentalshift
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, confidentially, diplomatically, and professionallyalways.
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Attention to detail in all areas ofwork
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Provenexperience as a supervisor or in a relevant role
  • Ability to learn a variety of jobdescriptions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
  • Problem-solving skills
  • High SchoolDiploma,a degree in a technical,engineering,or relevant field will be anadvantage.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English ( Mandarin highly preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
  • To Participate in the Company’s Health & Safety, Housekeeping and Environmental programs
  • Ensure all internal safety policies and legislation are followed as part of Due Diligence
  • Monitor any injuries and complete paperwork asrequired.
  • Participate in workplace inspections on monthly basis asrequired.
  • Attend all safety training asrequired.
  • Must have working knowledge of all safety legislation and follow allhealth andsafetypolicies.
  • Ensure all employees follow the company’s health and safety policies and procedures and report allviolations.
