Qualifications

Job description

Position Purpose

Responsible for the day‑to‑day management of the production floor through supervision, development and training of the production team. Also responsible for the efficient movement of product through the plant with a focus on quality and timeliness.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Follows and enforces established safety rules, ISO standards, policies and procedures at all times.
  • Directs supervision of production staff including recruiting, selecting, training and developing associates through coaching and disciplinary actions.
  • Uses a Customer Driven approach to achieve KPI targets and engage associates in the improvement process (i.e. production quality, output, processes and efficiencies).
  • Leads work teams focused on continuous improvement in safety, productivity, waste and quality improvement.
  • Maintains timekeeping and personnel records for all direct reports.
  • Maintains efficient workflows by monitoring processes and variables; implements cost reductions; develops reporting procedures and systems.
  • Completes production plan by establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising production schedules, resolving problems and reporting results or issues.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; assists in troubleshooting machine issues.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record‑keeping systems, forms of control, budgetary and personnel requirements.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing associates on the use of all equipment and safety protocols.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications.
  • Assists with hands‑on operation of machines, including operating and feeding large press machines that require a full awareness of surroundings, machine pinch points and safety protocols.
  • Operates forklift, as needed, in tight spaces with human traffic.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Full‑time role in a manufacturing plant/warehouse setting.
