Job summary

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience; five years preferred.
  • Proven leadership in production/operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and workflow optimization.
  • Ability to create, interpret, and follow written work instructions and production reports.
  • Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong communication, organizational, problem solving skills and root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory compliance (PPE and LOTO).

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and 5S practices to optimize workflow.
  • Manage pre-shift and end-of-shift meetings and ensure clear shift handoffs and communication.

Job description

The shift manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations and assigning major projects in the production area as needed. This position will assist in training and development of their production team to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and performance standards are consistently met. This role provides hands- on leadership across shifts, coaches supervisors and teams, addresses operational issues in real time, and ensure smooth shift-to-shift continuity while meeting key performance indications (KPIs), project goals, and training plans and timelines.
