Job Summary
Responsible for assisting shift supervision in the safe, efficient operation of the cups department. The Shift Lead is a critical team member whose ability to execute and engage team members is essential to shift success. The Shift Lead works with the Shift Supervisor and Lead PEO to manage the shift in accordance with Standard Work.
Essential Job Functions
- Monitor the entire production floor under the direction of the shift supervisor, ensuring smooth operation.
- Drive safety by confirming all shift personnel follow safety and GMP guidelines; reinforce protocols and report near misses or safety concerns immediately.
- Check material supplies at shift start and ensure required materials are requested and available.
- Oversee quality checks (white cup and print), including correct sleeve counts, boxes and labels, at designated times.
- Ensure the entire shift follows the break schedule and report inconsistencies.
- Ensure machine operators perform required quality line inspections and document testing; report equipment defects to maintenance.
- Prepare, input and process operation reports and other administrative functions accurately and on time.
- Maintain and submit all production checklists and related documents promptly.
- Identify and determine causes for quality problems or equipment failures, communicating with maintenance and shift supervisor.
- Coach/mentor team members at least once per shift.
- Oversee new team members, assisting with training according to the training manual and ensuring respectful treatment.
- Run the shift independently when needed, without supervisor support.
- Maintain good housekeeping and sanitation practices.
- Maintain communication with the shift supervisor regarding production, quality and equipment issues.
- Provide feedback to the supervisor about team concerns and other production issues.
- Provide resources for efficient operation of foam packing areas, including packer assignments, absence coverage, rest periods and overtime, adhering to the break schedule.
- Perform all responsibilities of a packer, production equipment operator, print operator, as Lead may be assigned lines as needed.
- Support all current and new product demands and participate in training new and existing team members.
- Follow WinCup Values, GMP, food safety, HACCP and SQF process requirements; report non‑compliance immediately to management or the SQF practitioner.
- Follow safety standards.
- Assist the Production Supervisor in running the shift.
- Perform other duties as assigned by WinCup leadership.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- Experience as a Lead in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of machinery, printing, packaging and quality processes.
- Forklift certification required.
Competencies
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and basic mathematics.
- Ability to learn quickly and execute instructions.
- Ability to work split shifts to support the production team on nights.
- Ability to understand written documents such as workplace rules, operating and maintenance procedures, or work instructions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
Physical Demands

- Move/transport materials weighing up to 50 pounds, bending, twisting and reaching as required.

- Stand up to 12‑hour shifts.
- Talk, walk, sit and use hands to manipulate tools and controls; reach, stoop, kneel, crawl or crouch.
Work Environment
- Work space with moving mechanical parts.
- Indoor manufacturing environment that may be exposed to extreme heat.
- Exposure to loud noises, odors and occasional airborne particles.
- Mandatory use of PPE, including hairnet, hearing protection and safety glasses with side guards.
- Ability to work 12+ hour shifts, weekdays, weekends and overtime.
