Job Description

MISSION:

Maintain accurate inventory of parts in the shipping area, coordinate workloads of shipping personnel, and ensure timely shipments to customers. For LSBO Machine Shop, schedule machine use based on shipping dates and interface with production facilities to schedule parts.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Inventory: Maintain computerized inventory, log outgoing shipments, initiate paperwork for inventory adjustments, report daily dollar figures, and handle hazardous waste if required.
• Shipping Coordination: Schedule and coordinate shipments, order inspection paperwork, apply castings to customer orders, maintain export logs, route shipments via air, truck, or other means, communicate with relevant departments, and order supplies.
• Production Scheduling: Schedule machines daily based on shipping dates, coordinate with planning and engineering, identify capacity issues, and forecast staffing and equipment needs.
• Safety: Follow safety rules, operate equipment safely, report safety issues, and perform related tasks.
• Training and Qualifications: Provide on-the-job training, complete required safety training, and have previous shipping and manufacturing experience, with knowledge of inventory systems and ability to read instructions and coordinate activities.
