Job summary

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a Production Scheduler I in Plano, TX, for its Neuromodulation Division. This role involves developing detailed scheduling plans to support manufacturing, releasing work orders, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job description

Production Scheduler I

Location: Plano, TX. Division: Neuromodulation.

The Opportunity

This position works out of our Plano, TX location in the Neuromodulation Division. The Neuromodulation business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. These non‑opioid therapies allow us to provide interventional pain therapy to patients throughout the pain continuum.

What You’ll Work On
  • Develop and provide a detailed scheduling plan, largely for subassemblies, which supports the top level approved build plans, assuring quantity and mix are clearly communicated to manufacturing and other groups.
  • Release work orders in the ERP system and update Kanban quantities to support build plans.
  • Review forecast data, backorder reports, and commodity/purchasing updates, including early warning signs, to prioritize and expedite manufacturing jobs to prevent or clear backorders.
  • Review and update material master data regularly to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage safety stock in partnership with purchasing.
  • Approve and create rework or special work orders in the ERP system, review and update outdated open jobs which require rescheduling or closing.
  • Partner with purchasing and warehousing to minimize and dispose of slow moving, obsolete and expiring inventory.
  • Comply with FDA regulations, other regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments; maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Required Qualifications
  • Intermediate experience utilizing MRP and ERP systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office and strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Ability to work onsite within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

  • Strong organizational and follow‑up skills, as well as attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in planning, supply chain, and/or in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • APICS or other planning related certification.
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross‑division business unit model.

Salary

The base pay for this position is $50,700.00 – $101,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
