Job summary

Abbott in Temecula, CA, is seeking a scheduling professional to develop detailed subassembly plans, release work orders in ERP, and update Kanban quantities to support build plans.

You will review forecast data and backorder reports, prioritize manufacturing jobs, manage safety stock with purchasing, and keep material master data accurate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of planning experience.
  • Experience in a medical device manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in a broader enterprise/cross-division model preferred.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and diverse environment.
  • Strong communication and time-management skills.

The Opportunity

This position works out of our Temecula, CA location in the Abbott Vascular Devices division.

Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for the treatment of vascular disease.

Under general supervision, develops, maintains and communicates manufacturing schedules to build products which meet finished goods demands thus shipping products to customers in a timely manner. Creates manufacturing schedules to achieve zero backorders, a key performance indicator.

What You'll Work On
  • Develops and provides a detailed scheduling plan, largely for subassemblies, which supports the top level approved build plans, assuring quantity and mix are clearly communicated to manufacturing and other manufacturing groups.
  • Releases work orders in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and updates Kanban quantities to support build plans.
  • Reviews forecast data, backorder reports, and commodity/purchasing updates, including early warning signs, to prioritize and expedite manufacturing jobs to prevent or clear backorders.
  • Reviews and updates material master data on regular basis to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manages safety stock in partnership with purchasing.
  • Approves and creates rework or special work orders in the ERP system Review and updates outdated open jobs which require rescheduling or closing.
  • Partner with purchasing and warehousing to minimize and dispose of slow moving, obsolete and expiring inventory.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Required Qualifications
Education

Bachelors Degree (± 16 years)

Supply Chain, Business or equivalent preferred

working in a medical device manufacturing environment preferred
