Job summary

The Dixon Group is seeking a detail-oriented Production Scheduler/Expeditor to join our Dixon Specialty Products team in Houston, TX. This role balances customer demand, production capacity, and material availability to ensure on-time delivery and operational efficiency.

You will work with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Sales to align schedules, monitor progress, and resolve constraints. A strong Excel and ERP background, plus a collaborative mindset, are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prior experience in production scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, or manufacturing operations.
• Proficiency with scheduling software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office (Strong Excel skills).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across functions.
• High attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules based on orders, forecasts, and priorities.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Sales to align schedules with capacity and demand.
• Monitor production progress and resolve scheduling conflicts or constraints.
• Create and maintain factory orders, routings, and production documentation.
• Analyze material availability and inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders to domestic and international vendors.
• Maintain vendor pricing and support supply chain accuracy.
• Use scheduling and ERP systems to track timelines, status, and performance metrics.
• Prepare production and scheduling reports for management review.

What You'll Do

• Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and operational priorities.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Sales teams to align schedules with capacity and demand.
• Monitor production progress and proactively resolve scheduling conflicts or constraints.

• Maintain vendor pricing and support supply chain accuracy.

• Prepare production and scheduling reports for management review.
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards, and perform additional related duties as assigned.
• Provide back-up support to front desk operations as needed (including phone and visitor reception).

What We're Looking For

• Proficiency with scheduling software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office (Strong Excel skills are required).
