Job description

Position: Production Scheduler
Place of Work: East Pittsburgh, PA-Holtec Manufacturing Division


Holtec International seeks qualified applicants for the position of Production Scheduler to support the Operations management team. The Production Scheduler will focus on delivering production schedules for manufacturing and engineering projects, utilize tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel. Holtec International is a global turnkey supplier of equipment and systems for nuclear, solar, geothermal, and fossil power generation sectors of the energy industry.

The Production Scheduler will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed production schedules, identifying critical path items and schedule risks, and ensuring compliance with customer and contractual obligations. The scheduler will gather and analyze data including manpower allocation and task progress to prepare reports and provide updates to internal stakeholders through established communication channels. The Production Scheduler will apply standardized project work breakdown structures and templates across various projects, use Primavera P6 to perform schedule analysis and forecasting, and recommend workflow process improvements to ensure on-time completion. Additional responsibilities include support of the Operations team and other duties as assigned.

Minimum required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and 0–3 years of experience in production scheduling or a related field; strong analytical skills; the ability to analyze data; proficiency in communication and computer use, including Excel and Access. An Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, or accounting is preferred. Familiarity with Primavera P6 or other scheduling software is highly desirable.

Additional desirable qualifications include previous production scheduling experience; knowledge of project management practices; experience working in both sedentary office settings and on plant floors to monitor project status; and a demonstrated ability to apply scheduling methodologies across a variety of technical projects.

Specific Areas of Responsibility:Develop and maintain production schedules using Primavera, MS Project, and Excel; analyze and report on schedule status, risks, and manpower progress; communicate schedule updates with internal stakeholders; ensure schedules are compliant with contractual and customer requirements; apply standard work breakdown structures and schedule templates; identify and implement workflow improvements; and support the Operations team across multiple projects.
