Job summary

Croda is seeking a Production Scheduler for Atlas Point, New Castle, DE. You will develop and manage production schedules using SAP, balance demand with capacity, and minimize working capital while ensuring on-time customer delivery.

The role requires extensive ERP experience, strong analytical skills, and collaboration with production, procurement, and customer service teams to optimize schedules and inventory.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years in SAP or ERP production planning
• Chemical-industry experience preferred
• APICS CPIM certification is a plus
• High School Diploma required
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred
• Strong analytical and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Accurately schedule and prioritize process orders in response to production and demand plans
• Complete production schedules to maximize capacity and minimize stock
• Use SAP MRP to review outputs and determine firm orders
• Ensure forward demand is met and adjust production to minimize working capital
• Resolve scheduling issues and support KPI achievement
• Investigate and respond to complaints or deviations
• Facilitate weekly production meetings and share scheduling info
• Coordinate shipments and ensure on-time delivery and inventory optimization

As we deliver our ambitious 2030 Growth Strategy, we're looking for a Production Scheduler to support Atlas Point, Croda's largest manufacturing site. Supporting five business units and a diverse portfolio of products, this role is critical to ensuring efficient production planning, optimal inventory levels, and on‑time customer delivery. Using SAP and planning tools, the Production Scheduler develops and manages production schedules that balance customer demand, manufacturing capacity, resource utilization, and business priorities.

Who We’re Looking For

• 7-10+ years experience in SAP or another ERP system in production planning modules.
• Advanced knowledge of manufacturing operations and production schedules; chemical‑industry experience preferred.
• APICS CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) certification is considered a plus.
• High School Diploma Required
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred.
• Demonstrated technical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, and schedule multiple activities with competing priorities.
• Project‑management skills and the ability to progress multiple projects independently.
• Ability to work effectively with manufacturing or laboratory personnel, suppliers, customers, managers, and senior leadership.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and graphs, plus proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong presentation, facilitation, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Oral and written proficiency in English.

What Y Ou’ll Be D Oing

• Accurately schedule and prioritize process orders in response to production plans, demand plans, and changing business needs.
• Complete production schedules that maximize capacity, minimize stock levels, improve OEE, and minimize downtime.
• Use SAP MRP to review proposed output and determine whether planned order requirements should become firm process orders.
• Ensure forward demand is met and add, move, or cancel production as needed to minimize working capital.
• Resolve scheduling issues and support achievement of established KPIs.
• Investigate and respond to customer complaints, production deviations, or safety investigations.
• Facilitate weekly production meetings and provide key scheduling information.
• Provide scheduling feedback to prioritize maintenance and minimize customer delays caused by downtime.
• Coordinate bulk shipments and schedule manufacturing activities ensuring on‑time delivery, optimal inventory levels and strong customer service.
• Communicate the production schedule and related issues to production, procurement, customer service, sales, and management.
• Present information and respond to questions from managers and customers.

What Success Looks Like

• Consistently creating and maintaining an achievable production schedule for Atlas Point that supports on‑time customer deliveries, production readiness, inventory optimization, and efficient utilization of manufacturing resources while balancing capacity, materials availability, and changing customer demand.
