Job summary

Croda is seeking a Shift Process Technician in Alabaster, AL to safely perform production duties, operate vessels, and carry out bulk organic synthesis and purification of pharmaceutical products. All work follows Safety, Health and Environmental guidelines, government regulations, cGMP manufacturing, and established procedures.

• Bachelor degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, biology, or related field preferred.
• 1 year experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing in a cGMP environment preferred.
• High level of integrity and reliability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow procedures to operate safely and in compliance with cGMP, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
• Perform synthesis and purification of pharmaceutical products and document work.
• Access electronic procedures and Master Control regularly.
• Assist in troubleshooting, calibrating, and preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain knowledge of cGMP and manufacturing compliance.
• Execute manufacturing SOPs/BPRs accurately and timely.
• Perform facility sanitation and maintenance; sanitize glassware and equipment.

As we deliver our ambitious 2030 Growth Strategy,we’relooking for a Shift Process Technician, responsible for safely performing all duties associated with the operational aspect of production, including but not limited to the charging of raw materials, the operation of vessels, executing the procedures and techniques associated with bulk organic synthesis, biochemical processing and purification of pharmaceutical products. All work is done with compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental guidelines, government regulations, cGMP manufacturing, and process procedures.

WhoWe’reLooking For:

• Bachelor of Science in chemistry, chemical engineering, biology, or related field preferred.
• 1 year experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing in a preferred cGMP environment.
• Strong attention to detail
• High level of integrity and reliability
• Working knowledge of Quality Management System in laboratory environment
• Intermediate mechanical skills required for manipulation of manufacturing equipment, such as glassware, glass reactors, pressure reactors, balances, Nutsche pressure filters, and gas cylinders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated
• Proficient in basic applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook
• Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work both in a team environment and work independently

WhatYou’llBe Doing:

• Understand and follow established procedures to operate safely, in an environmentally sound manner, and according to cGMP including during emergencies, startup & shut down, and OSHA related issues.
• Perform synthesis and purification of pharmaceutical products and fully document work
• Access electronic communication and procedures regularly (e.g., email, Master Control)
• Assist in troubleshooting, calibrating, and performing preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment
• Knowledge of personal protective equipment and use
• Hold others accountable for safety and elevate issues as necessary
• Perform inventory control of reagents and supplies
• Complete drum movement training, and perform physical labor associated with movement
• Maintain an elementary understanding of cGMP and compliance in a manufacturing setting.
• Accurately and timely execute manufacturing SOPs/BPRs
• Perform facility sanitation and maintenance
• Sanitation of glassware, equipment, and fume hoods
• Replace compressed gas cylinders
• Complete respirator fitting and training
• Perform label printing and verification
• Perform upkeep of employee training records
