Job summary

Ryerson is seeking a Production Scheduler to coordinate scheduling of processing equipment and align sales and management with available machine capacity and hours. The role emphasizes SAP-driven workflows and cross-functional communication on the shop floor to ensure timely order completion.

The ideal candidate will have a GED/HS Diploma, 1–3 years in scheduling, SAP experience, and familiarity with MRP systems, with a strong focus on organization and problem-solving in a metals manufacturing

Qualifications

• GED/HS Diploma required or equivalent.
• 1–3 years scheduling-type experience preferred.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Demonstrated success with MRP systems preferred.
• Knowledge of metals processing or manufacturing is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate all processing equipment and related activities.
• Manage proper machine capacity and available work hours.
• Interact with shop-floor Operators to communicate scheduling needs.
• Review orders and processing instructions for compliance with work instructions.
• Manage SAP transactions and reports to ensure orders are completed.
• Review performance data to identify areas for improvement.
• Identify skid and PVC film requirements for orders.
• Perform other duties as assigned or changed.

As a Production Scheduler at Ryerson, you will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating all processing equipment and sales and Management of proper machine capacity and available work hours.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Scheduling and coordination of all processing equipment, sales, etc.
• Management of proper machine capacity and available work hours
• Interact with Operators on the shop floor to communicate scheduling and production needs
• Review orders and processing instructions to ensure compliance with job work instructions
• Manage SAP transactions and reports to ensure orders are completed
• Review ROAD performance data to identify areas of improvement
• Review orders and identify skid and PVC film requirements
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements
