Job description

Production Scheduler, Nefab South Central

The Production Scheduler is responsible for accurately processing customer orders from entry through delivery and payment receipt, while maintaining a positive customer relationship. This role works closely with Sales, Design, Sourcing, Scheduling, Accounting, and the production team. The Planner serves as a liaison between Sales and the customer and Production to ensure orders are handled accurately and professionally. In addition, the Planner partners with Accounting on Customer Information setup, payment terms, and accounts receivable matters.

Planning Responsibilities
  • Receive forecasts and order book information and develop delivery plans to meet customer requirements efficiently.
  • Coordinate delivery plans with Customer Service and adjust them as customer and business needs change.
  • Provide lead time estimates for customer quotes.
  • Define stock levels needed to maintain customer service requirements, including VMI support.
  • Create production plans to meet delivery commitments while optimizing material, labor, and space utilization.
  • Develop raw material requirements plans based on production schedules and coordinate with Production, Buyers, Sourcing, and Customer Service.
  • Initiate internal actions to support customer delivery commitments.
  • Create raw material optimization plans.
  • Generate manufacturing orders and release them to the shop floor.
  • Handle vendor inquiries by phone in a professional and courteous manner, including order details and delivery coordination.
  • Liaise with Engineering, Sales, and Purchasing regarding orders, quotes, lead times, and related matters.
  • Maintain accurate and current vendor/item records, purchase orders, and manufacturing order information.
  • Schedule shipments for customer orders, prepare bills of lading and shipping labels, and arrange pickups.
  • Coordinate shipment dates to maximize truck utilization and reduce freight costs by consolidating multiple orders onto one truck.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Purchasing Responsibilities
  • Check purchasing proposals daily based off forecast, inventory levels, open orders, supplier’s lead times and MOQs, and any other demand signals
  • Monitor and expedite open Purchase Orders to ensure on-time delivery from vendors
Inventory Management Responsibilities
  • Conduct cycle counting on our raw material and component inventories
  • Report on any discrepancies found on inventory counts
Minimum Experience And Education Requirements
EDUCATION
  • High School diploma required
  • Some college coursework or previous Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Operations training preferre
Experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in Customer Service position within a manufacturing environment
  • 1+ Years in an Accounts Receivable or Collections position
  • 2+ years of experience
LANGUAGES
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal
  • Optional in Spanish, written/verbal, is considered an asset

Work Environment

Office working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may sometimes require weekend and/or evening work.

The Customer Service Representative’s role has cyclical stress due to frequent goals and deadlines and daily stress due to the responsibility associated with the incumbent’s decisions, outcomes, and potential outcomes. The incumbent is faced with constant interruptions and frequently meets with others.

Plant working conditions include noise more than 90 dB and some dust. Personal Protection Equipment is provided.
