Job description

The Production Scheduler is responsible for production scheduling and inventory control activities for the organization. This role develops and maintains the master production plan, tactical production schedules, work orders, while assisting with inventory accuracy activities.

  • Monitors inventory levels to ensure proper amount of supply at manufacturing and distribution facilities
  • Gathers data from internal sources to incorporate materials, inventories, resource availability, and delivery commitments into master capacity planning
  • Tracks progress of production and reviews factors which affect production schedules
  • Designs and implements the top-level production schedule plan, considering all aspects of production including efficiency, timeliness, and effectiveness
  • Monitors daily production results and revises scheduling responsive to changes in the flow of materials, designs, equipment, or other resources
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to identify and prioritize initiatives to optimize inventory capabilities and customer delivery requirements
  • Understands and utilizes material supply ATP governance and rules – min/max, MOQ, EOQ, EMQ
  • Utilizes ERP and other software for tracking and reporting of materials
  • Manages cross-functional S&OP process, working closely with all relevant teams to ensure sufficient supply is available when required
  • Communicates inventory and production status to relevant groups
  • Creates and manages Work Orders, while ensuring lot traceability
  • Analyzes total product line to recommend SKU rationalization to improve overall production capabilities and service levels
  • Provides analysis regarding the areas of their responsibilities for department and organization management as needed
  • Maintains policies and procedures for materials management and inventory control
  • Supports food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance efforts throughout the facility
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience developing and maintaining top-level and tactical production schedules
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply standard operating procedures, specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP system functionality

Preferred

  • Experience within manufacturing environments, with food or beverage industry preferred
  • CPIM certification from APICS or ability to obtain certification
  • Strong organizational and documentation management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • High level of professionalism, accountability, and ethical conduct
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and efficiency
