JTS is seeking a Production Planner to ensure the timely flow of material and information supporting production and customer needs. Qualifications

  • High School diploma is required; BA/BS in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Master Production Scheduling & MRP for assigned products.
  • Manage demand, production plans, and inventory levels to meet customer demands.
  • Review orders for correct scheduling and requisitioning.
  • Release jobs to production floor daily and monitor progress.
  • Coordinate Engineering change notices with relevant departments.
  • Ensure customer dates are met and communicate status across the organization.
  • Maintain planned shipment dates for sales orders and report status.
  • Evaluate capacities and lead times to maintain level workflow.
  • Monitor daily load and system status reports.
  • Collaborate with Production Supervisors to balance workload.

Summary

The Production Planner is responsible for the timely flow of material and information throughout the organization in support of production and customer needs. Manage assigned product demand; maintain production plans to support the demand. This role will work closely with purchasers, warehouse team, shop crews and will advise management on the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production issues.

Accountabilities
  • Ensure accurate Master Production Scheduling & Material Requirements Planning
  • Runs and timely availability of assigned products for customer demand by maintaining the following:
  1. Demand Forecasts
  2. Master Production Schedules
  3. MRP schedules
  • Review incoming orders for assigned products to assure correct assemblies are scheduled and/or requisitioned.
  • Maintain inventory levels of assigned products with goal of finding the "right" balance to meet expected customer demand, meet inventory turn targets and minimize obsolescence. This maintenance is to be done at all levels: finished goods, sub-assemblies, WIP and components.
  • Release jobs to the production floor daily.
  • Coordinate Engineering change notice implementations with applicable departments.
  • Work with Engineering, Purchasing and Production to ensure customer required dates are met.
  • Maintain accurate planned shipment dates for sales orders and communicate status throughout the organization.
  • Evaluate capacities and lead times, scheduling production to ensure level workflow.
  • Monitor and analyze daily reports, including daily load and system status reports.
  • Work with Production Supervisors to maintain an acceptable level of work loading in work center.

Required Knowledge/Experience:
  • High School diploma required; B.A. or B.S. degree in related field desired OR any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties (required)
  • Minimum 3 years manufacturing production experience preferred.
  • Inventory management knowledge.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of jobsite safety and ability to always ensure a safe workplace.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Primarily based in a manufacturing environment with exposure noise. Will also be in an office setting at times as well.
