Job summary

In-N-Out Burgers is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support safety and ergonomics on the production floor. You will develop, implement, and maintain safety protocols, analyze data, and promote a strong safety culture while managing administrative safety tasks.

The role reports to the Plant Manager and involves incident investigations, training, and collaboration with the EHS team to ensure compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required for safety coordination.
  • 2+ years in safety-related field; food production experience preferred.
  • OSHA familiarity in a food production environment is expected.
  • ISHA 10 and 30 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Implement safety and ergonomic programs for production and training materials.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and prevention recommendations.
  • Coordinate with EHS to ensure compliance and track corrective actions.
  • Train associates on safety policies and regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of safety regulations and participate in safety meetings.

The Safety Coordinator reports to the Plant Manager and provides support with developing, implementing and maintaining safety protocols and procedures within production. This is accomplished by being on the floor, data and program analysis, training, and promoting safety culture and managing administrative tasks related to safety incentives. This role contributes to the safety and ergonomics of Associates by identifying, evaluating, and mitigating workplace hazards and risks.
General Responsibilities:

  • Implement safety and ergonomic programs for production; Assist in establishing standards, guidelines, and procedures, including educational and training materials as needed for CPR, first aid, ammonia awareness etc.
  • Partner with management and lead workplace incidents, complete root cause analysis, and recommend prevention measures.
  • Liaison with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Team to ensure coordination and conduction of routine annual safety observations/reviews of production programs to ensure equipment and infrastructure are in compliance with all standards and regulations. Document results, recommend corrective action in partnership with EHS, and follow-up until deficiencies are corrected.
  • Train associate’s in safety policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains current knowledge of existing safety and health regulations
  • Supports management of programs regarding injury prevention, emergency procedures, and hazard recognition. .
  • Representative for corporate safety committee meetings and safety conferences.
  • Perform other work-related job duties as required.

  • Works under supervision and in partnership with the Plant Manager.
Work Schedule + Benefits
  • Full-time position, Hourly (Non-Exempt)
  • Pay Range $35.12/Hour - $40.00/Hour
    • The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors
  • Hours: 6am to 2:30pm (It is anticipated that 25 to 50% of the work will be spent working varied night or weekend hours.)
  • Some overtime as needed
  • 5 days per week, rotating schedule and alternating days off
  • Weekend and holiday availability required

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Safety Related Field 2+ years; required
  • 2-5 years of previous food production and safety experience; preferred
  • OSHA familiarity for food production environment.
  • ISHA 10 & 30 certification a plus
  • Strong critical thinking skills and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced GMP environment.
  • Clear communication and coaching skills. Written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Physical Demands/Requirements
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
  • Cold working conditions - Ability to withstand prolonged work assignments in cold temperatures
  • Maintain constant mental focus and constantly be aware of surroundings
