Job summary

BigHat Biosciences in San Mateo, CA is seeking a Research Associate I, Production to drive automated antibody production and high-throughput data generation on our platform. You will contribute to scaling operations and ensure rigorous documentation of experiments.

Ideal candidates have a STEM background, hands-on lab experience with molecular biology, and comfort working on a startup team with shifting schedules and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• BS in Biology or Chemistry with 1+ year of industry experience.
• Experience in process execution, lab method development and troubleshooting.
• Ability and willingness to work specific day schedules (e.g., 7AM-3PM or 10AM-6PM).
• Hands-on with automated liquid handlers; LIMS experience is a plus.
• Experience with molecular biology techniques.
• Efficient time management and ability to handle multiple projects.
• Strong record-keeping and communication skills.
• Nice-to-haves: barcode systems and Google Workspace tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform automated and manual high-throughput processing on the BigHat platform.
• Contribute to scaling up platform and production-grade data generation.
• Support PRAS functions with reagent manufacturing efforts.
• Execute experiments to optimize platform performance.
• Keep detailed records using documentation tools and communicate results.
• Collaborate on SOPs for sample processing.
• Work with team to implement process improvements in production workflows.
• Operate automated liquid handlers and analytical instruments.
