Job summary

Farmers Union Industries, LLC (FUI) is hiring for a Receiving Operator at our Central Bi-Products facility in Redwood Falls, MN. The role handles raw materials, unloads trailers, and coordinates with truck drivers to ensure accurate loading and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Experience in food/feed production is a plus
  • Forklift certification required on hire
  • Proficient in basic math and reading data trends; accurately record information
  • Effective communication with external truck drivers, both written and verbal
  • Able to read and understand signs, labels, warnings, and manuals
  • Able to stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work extra hours; must be 18+ for insurance purposes

Responsibilities

  • Unload raw materials from trailers using various methods
  • Operate skid-steers or forklifts to move materials as needed
  • Clean trailers and equipment with pressure washer and brushes
  • Inspect trailers and coordinate repairs with maintenance technicians
  • Greet contract haulers and assist them with backing up and unloading
  • Complete paperwork for each unloaded trailer
  • Communicate trailer load information to production to prevent errors
  • Report concerns, accidents, downtime, or cost-saving ideas to Foreman
  • Follow safety policies and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain positive working relationships and assist maintenance or production staff
  • Perform general housekeeping and maintain on-site attendance

We are currently accepting applications for Receiving Operator (Raw Material – Material Handling) on 1st Shift! We offer a starting wage of $25.23/Hr. along with shift differentials after 4PM, regular pay increases, and a complete benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, PTO, paid holidays, an impressive 401K match and more!

Available Schedules
  • 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm

Weekend hours may be possible on a required or voluntary basis

  • Unload Raw Materials Assist Truck Drivers
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Remove product in a variety of ways from open top, rendispose, reefer, box, tank, and other types of trailers
  • Operate skid-steers or forklifts to remove large materials from trailers, as needed
  • Use a pressure washer and brush to clean out trailers, skid steers, and other equipment
  • Inspect trailers for usability and notify Vehicle Maintenance Technicians if repairs are needed
  • Greet contract haulers, and direct and assist them in backing up and unloading their trailers
  • Complete paperwork for each unloaded trailer
  • Effectively communicate trailer load information with production personnel to prevent errors and inefficiencies
  • Report any concerns, accidents, downtime, or cost-saving measures to Foreman, as needed
  • Follow all company safety policies, practices, procedures, and improvement initiatives
  • Comply with all regulatory compliance requirements including environmental and food/feed safety
  • Maintain positive relationships with others and assist other production or maintenance personnel, as necessary
  • Perform general housekeeping to maintain a clean work environment, as needed
  • Maintain regular and predictable on-site attendance

Qualifications
  • Experience in food/feed production, a plus
  • Pass in-house Forklift Certification, upon hire
  • Proficient in basic math skills and reading data trends; accurately and legibly record information
  • Effectively communicate with external truck drivers, both in writing and verbally
  • Accurately read and understand signs, labels, warnings, directions, and operator manuals
  • Ability to maintain composed and organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Work in a facility that processes multiple species including cows, pigs, and poultry
  • Willingness and ability to work extra hours as needed during the week or weekend
  • Must be 18 years of age or older for insurance purposes
Physical Requirements
  • Consistently push and/or pull heavy objects
  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist level; occasionally lift up to 75 pounds
  • Consistently bend at the waist and/or knees
  • Consistently climb trailers or ladders up to 15 feet or be elevated in scissors lifts up to 40 feet
  • Stand up to 100% of the workday
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to work safely in all weather conditions including extreme heat and cold
