Job summary

Farmers Union Industries, LLC, also known as FUI, is hiring a Yard Truck Operator for Plant #22 (Raw Floor) in Redwood Falls, MN. The role runs on the 3rd shift (Mon-Fri, 8:00 PM–4:00 AM) with potential weekend hours.

You will unload raw materials, back up trailers, and support panel operations while following safety policies. The position offers a starting wage of $25.92/hour with $2/hour night differential and $2/hour weekend differential, plus regular pay increases and a comprehensive

Qualifications

  • Pass in-house Forklift Certification; experience in backing up trailers or operating a skid steer and forklift, preferred
  • Experience in food/feed production, a plus
  • Understand and operate basic computer systems
  • Proficient in basic math skills and reading data trends; accurately and legibly record information
  • Effectively communicate in English with external truck drivers, both in writing and verbally
  • Read and understand signs, labels, warnings, directions, and operator manuals
  • Ability to maintain composure and be organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Work in a facility that processes multiple species including cows, pigs, and poultry
  • Must be 18 years of age or older for insurance purposes

Responsibilities

  • Operate automatic yard trucks to move raw material trailers to unloading bays for processing
  • Remove product from various trailer types
  • Operate skid-steers or forklifts to unload materials as needed
  • Use pressure washer and brush to clean equipment
  • Inspect trailers and notify maintenance if repairs are needed
  • Arrange empty trailers in the yard
  • Greet contract haulers and assist with backing up and unloading
  • Complete paperwork for each unloaded trailer

We are currently accepting applications for Yard Truck Operator within Plant #22 (Raw Floor) on 3rd shift! We offer a competitive starting wage of $25.92 along with a $2/Hr. night shift and a $2/Hr. weekend shift differential, and regular pay increases. Schedule

3rd Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00PM - 4:00am

Weekend hours may be possible on a required or voluntary basis

Areas of Accountability
  • Unload Raw Materials
  • Assist Truck Drivers
  • Backup Panel Operator
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Operate automatic yard trucks to move raw material trailers to unloading bays for processing
  • Remove product in a variety of ways from open top, rendispose, reefer, box, tank, and other types of trailers
  • Operate skid-steers or forklifts to remove large materials from trailers, as needed
  • Use a pressure washer and brush to clean out trailers, skid steers, and other equipment
  • Inspect trailers for usability and notify Vehicle Maintenance Technicians if repairs are needed
  • Arrange and organize empty trailers in the truck yard
  • Greet contract haulers, and direct and assist them in backing up and unloading their trailers
  • Complete paperwork for each unloaded trailer
  • Provide break relief and serve as backup to Panel Operator, when needed
  • Observe the manufacturing process and data through computer monitors to ensure product specifications are being met
  • Complete paperwork regarding observations and product being produced every two hours
  • Effectively communicate trailer load information with production personnel to prevent errors and inefficiencies
  • Report any concerns, accidents, downtime, or cost-saving measures to Foreman, as needed
  • Follow all company safety policies, practices, procedures, and improvement initiatives
  • Comply with all regulatory compliance requirements including environmental and food/feed safety
  • Maintain positive relationships with others and assist other production or maintenance personnel, as necessary
  • Perform general housekeeping to maintain a clean work environment, as needed

Qualifications

Physical Requirements
  • Consistently push and/or pull heavy objects
  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist level; occasionally lift up to 75 pounds
  • Consistently bend at the waist and/or knees
  • Consistently climb trailers or ladders up to 15 feet or be elevated in scissors lifts up to 40 feet
  • Stand up to 100% of the workday
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to work safely in all weather conditions including extreme heat and cold

Deberes y Responsabilidades Esenciales
  • Operar camiones de patio automático para trasladar remolques de materia prima a las plataformas de descarga para su procesamiento

  • Operar minicargadoras o montacargas para retirar materiales voluminosos de los remolques, según sea necesario
  • Usar una hidrolavadora y un cepillo para limpiar remolques, minicargadoras y otros equipos
  • Inspeccionar los remolques para verificar su correcto funcionamiento y notificar a los técnicos de mantenimiento de vehículos si se requieren reparaciones
