Job summary

Lokar, Inc. in Knoxville, TN, is seeking a Polisher/Grainer to join our growing team. The role involves finishing or polishing aluminum parts to high-quality standards, with on-the-job training provided.

This is a full-time, day-shift position in a climate-controlled facility, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. You will use stationary grinders, buffing wheels and sanders, wear PPE, and handle up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Able to troubleshoot with minimal instruction.
• Able to lift 50 pounds frequently.
• Mechanically inclined.

Responsibilities

• Finish or polish aluminum parts using stationary grinders, buffing wheels and sanders.
• Wear PPE including safety glasses, face shields, gloves, dust masks, etc.
• Move material weighing up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive hand tasks.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and ensure safety and quality standards.

Description We are seeking an individual who would like to join our growing team as a Polisher / Grainer. Individual will be responsible for polishing or graining aluminum parts to high-quality standards. We will train the right candidate who is willing to learn our process. With our continued growth, we are always looking for hard-working, professional individuals to join our team. This position is full time, day shift, Monday – Friday 730a -4pm in a climate-controlled facility.

• Finish or polish AL parts using a variety of stationary grinders, buffing wheels and sanders.
• Wear appropriate PPE including safety glasses, face shields, gloves, dust masks etc.
• Move material weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Repetitive use of hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation.
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, kneeling, squatting and twisting.
• Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards.
• Keep work area clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
• Follow all company rules and policies.
• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
• Follow all safety rules and quality standards.
• Work with your department team to maximize productivity and efficiency.
• May have to prepare product for shipment.
• Uphold all OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above.
• Maintain the work area clean, safe and organized.
