Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Malabar, FL is seeking a Production Planning Intern to support manufacturing build plans and schedules. You will work with MRP to input master schedules, track material availability, and maintain shop order records.

The ideal candidate is pursuing a BA/BS in Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering, with interest in scheduling, data analysis, and MS Office. Prior MRP exposure is a plus; this internship offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced defense tech environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Experience or exposure to scheduling or supply chain planning preferred.
• Strong computer and analytical skills with the ability to manage large amounts of quantitative data.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; working knowledge of relational databases.
• Knowledge and/or experience with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) or other enterprise planning and scheduling suite.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement manufacturing build plans to meet customer delivery schedules.
• Utilize MRP to input Master Schedule build plans, track material availability, status kit readiness, release shop orders, and maintain all shop order records and inventory integrity.
• Update and maintain make items lead times within MRP system.
• Manage floor stock of program components.
• Work with Manufacturing and Quality teams to execute build schedule and address issues promptly.
• Coordinate with Materials Planners to manage schedule and material dock dates for accuracy.
• Provide hardware status, updates and performance statistics to the program team via MES.

Job Schedule: 9/80:Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off

Job Description:

• Develop and implement manufacturing build plans to meet customer contractual delivery schedules

• Utilize Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) system to input Master Schedule build plans, track material availability, status kit readiness, release shop orders, and maintain all shop order records and inventory integrity

• Update and maintain make items lead times within MRP system

• Manage floor stock of program components

• Work jointly with Manufacturing and Quality teams to execute build schedule and address any issues in a timely manner

• Work with Materials Planners to proactively manage the schedule and material dock dates to ensure accuracy of planning

• Provide hardware status, updates and performance statistics to program team based on status of hardware through Manufacturing Execution System (MES)

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineeringor related field

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge and/or experience in scheduling or supply chain planningpreferred

• Strong computer and analytical skills combined with the ability to manage large amounts of quantitative data

• Proficient in the use Microsoft Office software;working knowledge of relational data bases.
