Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years in procurement, operations, supply chain, logistics or related function with exposure to production planning or scheduling.
  • Alternative: Associate’s degree in a related field plus 5+ years in production scheduling/operations; or High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years in production scheduling/operations.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing/packaging environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed manufacturing and/or packaging schedules for assigned sites, aligning with demand forecasts, material availability, and resource constraints.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, packaging, maintenance, quality, procurement, supply chain, and logistics teams to optimize scheduling efficiency and resolve constraints.
  • Monitor the execution of schedules and adjust as needed to maintain production timelines.
  • Track production capacity, equipment utilization, and labor availability to optimize resource allocation and prevent bottlenecks.
  • Work with procurement and inventory management to ensure materials and components are available for scheduled runs.
  • Support continuous improvement by suggesting and implementing enhancements to scheduling methodologies.
  • Analyze production performance data to assess scheduling effectiveness.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to coordinate scheduling and forecast accuracy.
  • Communicate schedule updates, constraints, and solutions to senior leadership and operations teams.
  • Provide support to management for complex scheduling tasks.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by senior management.

Description

A Production Planning Coordinator is primarily responsible for the day-to-day scheduling of manufacturing and/or packaging operations at specific production sites, ensuring adherence to production timelines and on-time product delivery.

Shifts Available

Day (1st Shift, M-F, 8:30/9:00am - 4:30pm/5:00pm)

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed manufacturing and/or packaging schedules for assigned sites, that align with demand forecasts, material availability, and resource constraints.

Requirements
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or a related field and 3+ years of experience in procurement, operations, supply chain, logistics or a related function with exposure to production planning or scheduling.
  • Alternatively, a combination of an Associate’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of experience in production scheduling, operations, or a related function; or, a High School Diploma or GED with 7+ years of experience in production scheduling, operations, or a related function.
  • Experience within a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing and/or packaging environment preferred.
Skills, Abilities And Knowledge
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, production scheduling tools and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in scheduling priorities and production demands quickly.
  • Optimal and relentless follow up ability.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical production processes, including batch manufacturing and/or packaging operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of cGMP, FDA, and other pharmaceutical regulatory requirements is a plus.
Physical Demands
  • Required to use hands to operate computer controls.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, ability to focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, bend, sit, talk, hear, or walk for long periods. The employee may lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment
  • Required to be present in the office to collaborate with directors, peers, and other departments daily.
  • Work environment in production operations facilities include proximity to heavy machinery and pharmaceutical powders, with exposure to loud noises.
  • Potential to move between production operations sites/areas to complete job functions; regular, ongoing travel throughout geographic areas on a continual basis as normal scope of role.
  • Hours/Travel maybe subject to change based on management/company discretion.
