Position
Production Planner Supervisor
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead the production planning team for optical manufacturing operations (e.g., lenses, mirrors, coatings, assemblies)
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer orders, forecasts, and capacity constraints
- Coordinate material requirements planning (MRP) to ensure availability of raw materials and components
- Monitor production progress and adjust plans to address delays, equipment issues, or supply disruptions
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure compliance with optical specifications and tolerances
- Optimize workflow, capacity utilization, and throughput in high-precision manufacturing processes
- Analyze production data and KPIs (on-time delivery, cycle time, yield, WIP levels) to identify improvement opportunities
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma) to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
- Communicate production status, risks, and mitigation plans to management and stakeholders
- Train, mentor, and evaluate planning team members
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing operations
- At least 1–2 years of direct supervisory or team leadership experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, SAP a plus
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar data tools

Compensation
$90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
