Belcan Corporation in Norton, OH seeks an Optical Supply Planner to lead demand and supply planning for the Optical business. You will develop supply plans using capacity modeling and coordinate with Plants, Sales, Transportation, and Warehousing to resolve issues quickly.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Supply Chain or related field, 5+ years in planning, and proficiency in Excel/Office; SAP experience is a plus. On-the-job training and opportunities for advancement are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain/related field.
• At least 5 years in a planning environment.
• Experience in supply planning or SCM is desirable.
• APICS CPIM certification is beneficial.
• SAP experience is a plus. Proficient in Excel/Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage toller relationships and capacity planning to meet demand.
• Oversee inventory and supply planning for plants/warehouses.
• Maintain capacity plans and production schedules.
• Oversee inventory transfers and replenishment for locations.
• Optimize deployment planning to minimize freight costs while maximizing service.

Job Description

Summary: The Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for the strategic and tactical planning of manufacturing and distribution for the Optical business. The Planner will be tasked with taking the demand plan and developing the supply plans using capacity modeling while ensuring the lowest cost of ownership model for the business. This role also acts as a liaison and communication point between Plants, Sales, Transportation, Tollers and Warehousing, keeping all parties apprised of potential problems or issues impacting the business. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, using analytical skills to resolve issues/problems.

Duties include

• Manages Toller relationships, including raw materials, capacity planning and feedstock supply for Toller to ensure enough time is allowed for production repacking material to meet customer demands
• Oversees inventory and supply planning responsibilities for assigned plants and/or warehouses
• Maintains capacity plans, production schedules (work closely with Plant & Local Planning), and/or finite schedules to ensure the efficient delivery of inventory, service, and cost objectives
• For some locations/plants, responsibilities may also include inventory stock transfer and replenishment responsibilities
• Oversees deployment planning responsibilities for assigned customer and distribution points. Goal is to minimize freight expense by utilizing rail modes instead of bulk trucks, while still maximizing service
• Inventory Management - provide input on Old Age material to determine action required to initiate salvage or disposal of product
• Track plant/business performance KPI"s to the established supply chain plan such as OTIF, Plant Adherence, Freight Premium, and Old Age Review
• Identifies ways to improve supply planning processes and tools for assigned areas
• Provides supply planning expertise to the commercialization of new products or resolution of key inventory shortage issues

Requires

• Bachelor"s Degree, preferably in Supply Chain or in Operations/Supply Planning
• At least 5 years of experience in a planning environment
• Previous experience in a Supply Planning or Supply Chain Management environment is strongly desirable
• APICS certification as a CPIM is beneficial
• SAP experience a plus
• Must be proficient in the use of Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and other desktop applications for modeling.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organization
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever changing dynamic environment
