Job summary

CFR Engines Inc. in Waukesha, WI is seeking a Production Planner/Scheduler to develop the master production schedule aligned with capacity and forecast, balance inventory, and satisfy customer demand.

You will coordinate across Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing and Shipping/Receiving while monitoring forecast accuracy and scheduling integrity. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years in manufacturing with strong knowledge of planning

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing with interface to Materials Management, Production Control, Capacity Planning and Scheduling.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems; Epicor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage and maintain a master production plan aligned with demand and capacity.
• Provide daily/weekly analysis and KPIs; identify gaps and constraints; propose solutions.
• Manage S&OP process with Operations, Procurement and Sales to support financial plan.
• Conduct schedule risk assessments and coordinate with Manufacturing, Sourcing and Shipping/Receiving.
• Serve as focal point for communications about master schedule, delivery performance, and forecast accuracy.
• Lead forecast planning and capacity planning to match demand with capacity.
• Use historical sales, forecasts and backlog to meet on-time shipments and reduce lead times.
• Communicate major demand variations to Commercial Team.
• Participate in First Article meetings and coordinate engineering changes.
• Protect confidential information and drive process improvements.
• Support cross-functional ad hoc assignments.

About the Role

As we continue to grow and diversify, we’re seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Planner/Scheduler to join our team in Waukesha, WI. In this role, you’ll be responsible for for developing the master production schedule in line with manufacturing capacity and sales forecast to satisfy customer demand while effectively managing inventory levels. This role functions as a liaison between Sales, Customer Service, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing and Shipping/Receiving and is responsible for the forecast entry, and production scheduling.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management or a related technical field.
• 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferably with active interface to Materials Management, Production Control, Capacity Planning and Scheduling related functions
• Prior master scheduling experience and working knowledge of supply chain process and procedures including planning, demand management and replenishment.
• Experience working with MRP/ERP systems, especially advanced planning systems (Epicor experience preferred).

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, manage and maintain a master production plan that satisfies customer demand while leveling manufacturing workload and optimizing inventory on a cost and unit basis.
• Provide daily/weekly analysis and key performance metrics, identify gaps and constraints, and suggest alternative solutions.
• Manage Company’s S&OP Process by working with Operations, Procurement and Sales to develop opportunities and risks to the company’s overall finacial plan.
• Conduct independent schedule risk assessments and mitigation planning and coordinate with Manufacturing, Sourcing and Shipping/Receiving to facilitate the resolution of resource constraints and other existing or potential schedule interruptions.
• Serve as the focal point with management for all communications associated with the master schedule, delivery performance, manufacturing capacity, and forecast accuracy.
• Lead the forecast planning process, tracking the opportunities pipeline and conducting capacity planning to effectively match future demand projections with manufacturing capability.
• Utilize historical sales, distributor forecasts, new product/business opportunities and backlog to derive an effective plan to achieve budgeted, on-time shipments while reducing lead-time to the customer.
• Communicate significant variations in product demand to Commercial Team.
• Participate in First Article meetings, stay current on new product introductions and coordinate implementation of engineering changes.
• Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Actively challenge existing processes to drive simplification and improvement.
• Support the organization by performing cross-functional ad hoc assignments as requested.
