The Production Planner manages the scheduling and timeliness of the production process to ensure the company meets all deadlines. The Production Planner will manage material and equipment availability, schedule production, and monitor the production process for issues.
Responsibilities include managing existing material inventory levels using SAP parameters or minimums, and maximizing security supplies. Collaborate closely with Customer Service, Production Supervisors, Distribution, Planning, Internal/External Customers, and Product Engineering to ensure timely delivery of components and raw materials. Follow up on back orders, expedite deliveries, and communicate expected delivery dates and shortages. Reconcile PO discrepancies with vendors and/or Hubbell Accounting. Maintain good relationships with suppliers. Recommend procedures to improve quality and reduce costs, and stay informed of new developments in related commodities, sharing updates with the Materials department.
Manage the SAP system, implement programs like consignment and inventory management according to business needs. Supervise and lead the shipping team, providing support and training. Develop KPIs to measure shipping effectiveness. Plan, organize, direct, manage, and evaluate shipping activities and budgets. Maintain open communication with management to coordinate activities and improve performance. Cross-train worker teams for maximum flexibility.
