Our client, a manufacturer of metal products, has an immediate need for an experienced Production Planner/Inventory Manager, to join their winning team in Buffalo.

Our candidate of choice willbe responsible for overseeing and working with the plant manager to coordinate the entire production process. You will ensure products are made efficiently, on time, and within budget by developing and managing production schedules, monitoring inventory levels, and collaborating with various teams to meet production goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:

• Scheduling production: Create and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, customer orders, and available capacity, adjusting as needed to accommodate changes.
• Inventory management: Monitor raw material levels, anticipate potential shortages, and work with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Resource allocation: Assign tasks and manpower to production lines based on workload and skillsets.
• Cost control: Track production costs, identify areas for improvement, and strive to optimize resource utilization to stay within budget.
• Performance monitoring: Track production metrics like output, cycle time, and scrap rates to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
• Problem-solving: Analyze production disruptions, identify root causes, and develop solutions to minimize production delays.
• Communication and collaboration: Work closely with various departments including sales, procurement, warehouse, and maintenance to ensure smooth production flow.
• Reporting and analysis: Generate reports on production status, performance metrics, and identify trends to inform decision-making.
