Job summary

Thorlabs is seeking a Production Planner in Newton, NJ to coordinate and schedule assembly activities for precision optomechanical devices. You will develop production plans, manage lead times, and ensure on-time delivery while collaborating with purchasing and other teams.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in production planning in manufacturing, experience with ERP/MRP systems (Dynamics 365 F&O), and strong analytical skills. Some travel to other Thorlabs locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in production planning or scheduling in manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, especially Dynamics 365 F&O.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with bills of materials and routing.
• Experience in a team environment coordinating across departments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule production activities in assembly.
• Develop and maintain production plans for product lines.
• Schedule assembly of finished goods and sub-assemblies.
• Release production orders based on capacity and components.
• Monitor lead times, inventory levels, and forecasts.
• Maintain planning data and production parameters.
• Collaborate with purchasers to expedite critical components.
