Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience in production planning or scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Must understand the various manufacturing processes involved in producing parts.
• Ability to create and interpret reports to support planning decisions.
• Basic math and reading skills to HS diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency with computers.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with plant manager, sales staff, and warehouse personnel.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to understand equipment and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production specifications to determine processes, tools, and staffing requirements.
• Ensure material flow and production activities are aligned.
• Prepare work orders and adjust schedules as needed.
• Update capacity calendars using Job Boss or other reports.
• Collaborate with Sales and Materials to forecast demand and adjust plans.
• Coordinate with Customer Service and Materials to align production with order intake, including rush orders.
• Plan jobs across machines, prioritizing by lead time, capacity, and customer requirements.
• Balance production loads and reassess manpower, machines, and materials for efficiency.
• Flag delays due to stockouts, overutilized machines, or tooling issues.
