POSITION SUMMARY:

Ensures performance to the master production schedule to achieve division objectives for customer service, inventory levels, and configuration management. Plans, prepares, issues, and controls moderately complex and/or diverse production schedules and material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. Position aligns supply and demand for GTFSD OEM production, aftermarket spares, and repairs.

  • Identifies a variety of raw material, component and assembly requirements for fulfillment internally and externally using demand data tools such as MRP or visual systems. This activity will support GTFSD OEM requirements, aftermarket Spares and repairs.
  • Generation of forecasts based on a wide variety of inputs from multiple sources. Incumbent will need to exercise judgement in the development of plans/forecasts to optimize the outcome around financial and customer service goals and objectives.
  • Evaluates and confirms materials supply is available to meet demand. Prepares work orders for production or purchase of components or parts to support the master production schedule; considers shop load, inventory availability and customer need dates to assign production dates.
  • Coordinates material movements between internal work and storage areas and/or outside processing or suppliers to ensure materials are available when needed
  • Advises stakeholders of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential delivery problems
  • With value stream leaders, ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are allocated as needed. Recommends schedule changes to improve the delivery outcome for assigned products.
  • Schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders and/or stock transfers to meet customer shipping dates.
  • Analyzes inventory usage, scrap, and waste, and recommends any appropriate actions to minimize loss, reduce inventory, and/or increase inventory turnover that would support inventory level objectives. Generate or interpret reports to support Supply Chain decision-making activities.
  • Advises and assists management resolve problems with over shipments, shortages, engineering changes, and cancellation of orders.
  • Coordinates cross-functional activities with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Inventory Control, Shipping and Receiving, and Contract Administration to ensure a smooth flow of materials through the production process and consistent information about status and priorities.
  • Maintains configuration control on all open orders, and appropriate data files as required by division policies and procedures.
  • Applies continuous improvement techniques and methods to internal processes and systems to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Complies with policies and procedures in Government/Commercial Practices Manual (GPM/CPM).
  • Participates/leads site HPT teams, and Kaizen events; MRB, Quality improvement efforts and SIOP processes.
  • Shares specialized knowledge with others. Represents company on specific projects. Mentors new employees. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Performance will be measured against site financial performance goals and objectives, Specific manufacturing performance goals and objectives, and the effectiveness of the tasks above.
  • Has completed a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering or Manufacturing/Supply Chain or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through two or more years of related experience.
  • CPIM or equivalent certification highly recommended; candidates without CPIM or equal will have this as a development requirement during the 1 st 12-24 months of employment.
  • Previous direct experience in forecasting, planning and scheduling in a hard goods manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, experience and/or certification in the below a plus:
  • LEAN Manufacturing (external or Parker LMS): JIT/KanBan/Continuous improvement/Problem-solving.
  • Microsoft Business tools: Excel, PowerPoint, Word. Project-Medium or better proficiency required
  • Working knowledge of Power BI and/or other database extraction methods

Knowledge of manufacturing resource planning theories, principles, and industry practices. Training/experience in the specific areas below a plus.

  • Experience with ERP applications, project planning methods and other manufacturing enterprise tools
  • Experience/knowledge of Manufacturing cost accounting methods.
  • Knowledge of Quality systems, and methods including auditing, AS/ISO 900X
  • Manufacturing methods including assembly and test
  • Warehousing, shipping and logistics/Inventory control methods
  • Customer portal processes and other forecasting/demand management techniques
  • Product configuration control and product life-cycle management.
