Location: Winsted, CT
Salary: $70,000-$77,000 some flexibility.
Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Duration: Full-Time, Direct HirePosition Summary and Special Duties:
As a Production Planner, your day-to-day duties will consist of, but may not be limited to:
- Manage and control plant inventories to meet business plan financial objectives.
- Schedule and maintain all OEM and interplant shop orders to meet required start and completion dates.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure proper machine utilization and maximize output.
- Monitor ball lot progress throughout the manufacturing cycle; interact directly with shop floor employees.
- Maintain on-time-delivery (OTD) objectives and implement controls and procedures to meet goals.
- Assign and control materials for quoting and order start-up, ensuring specification releases for steel and ceramic components.
- Review and respond to RFQs, providing accurate lead times.
- Provide timely order status responses to Sales and Customer Service.
- Maintain strategic inventories to support customer service and business plan needs.
- Launch split sheet information and forecast orders to balance shop load.
- Create and maintain manufacturing routers and product flow documentation.
- Monitor plant capacity and prepare shop load and OTD analysis reports.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts for special products and new programs.
- Participate in daily Discrepancy Report (DR) meetings and resolve issues.
- Ensure ISO/AS compliance in contract review and customer-supplied products.
- Support internal and external audits, including supplier, customer, and accreditation audits.
- Back-up XA system entry for suffix changes and inventory adjustments.
- Communicate late orders to Sales/Customer Service to manage customer expectations.
- Advise Purchasing on steel and ceramic ball ordering to meet production schedules.
Job Specifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or Supply Chain Management .
- APICS CPIM, CSCM, or CPM certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in production planning, scheduling, and inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong Excel proficiency required.
- MRP/ERP system experience strongly .
- Safe work practices and attention to workplace cleanliness (5S adherence).
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- High degree of organization and confidentiality.
- Positive and continuous improvement mindset aligned with company quality goals and values.
