Job summary

Terex Utilities in Watertown, SD is seeking a Production Planner to coordinate material delivery and line builds, review data, and release or reschedule work orders on the production lines.

You will ensure materials are available, manage work orders, and support lean manufacturing. The role requires hands-on work in a manufacturing environment, strong Excel skills, and clear communication.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a safe and organized workplace.
  • Review Clear To Build data to coordinate planned machine builds on the lines.
  • Release, reschedule, and complete related work orders.
  • Ensure each work area has the materials needed to start and run jobs.
  • Assist in planning item attributes data in the TMS.
  • Establish material delivery planning and backflush locations in TMS.
  • Manage bypass reports and order parts from CLI.
  • Analyze material flow problems; identify causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify and eliminate waste in inventory materials processes.
  • Requisition materials when applicable.
  • Maintain, audit, and improve standard work.
  • Train and cross-train colleagues in materials processes.

As a Production Planner at Terex, you'll play a pivotal role in properly planning the system for material delivery to best support production. You will review material availability, escolate shortages, and coordinate which units to build. The production Planner will also manage system work orders and dates.

What you’ll do
  • Promote and maintain a safe and organized workplace
  • Review Clear To Build data to help coordinate planned machine builds on the lines
  • Releasing/rescheduling/completing related work orders
  • Ensure each work area has the appropriate materials available to start/execute the jobs.
  • Assist in properly planning item attributes data in TMS
  • Establish material delivery planning and backflush locations TMS
  • Manage bypass reports and order parts from CLI
  • Analyzes material flow problems, determines causes, put corrective actions in place – proper station coding, 2 bin set up, mistake-proof the order/distribution processes, etc.
  • Ability to identify and eliminate waste within inventory materials processes
  • Requisitioning materials when applicable
  • Maintain/Audit/Improve Standard Work
  • Train and cross train other employees in materials processes
What you’ll bring
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 3 years material inventory experience
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, computer and math)
  • Strong Microsoft excel skills and computer systems aptitude
  • Understand and support Company policies and procedures.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and the principles of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Enthusiasm for working “hands on” in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated analytical mindset and problem-solving skills

The compensation range for this position is $24.00 - $29.00 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. This above description is non-exhaustive and there may be additional duties in accordance with the role.
