GENERAL PURPOSE

Develop the production schedule at a high level, determining which products will be stocked or planned either prior to shipment or before assembly for made-to-order operations.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Translate orders into a sequential work schedule.
2. Analyze production specifications and capacity data; perform mathematical calculations to determine production processes and tools.
3. Plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation based on established production sequences and lead times.
4. Plan sequence of operations.
5. Communicate with department supervisors to determine the status of assigned projects.
6. Expedite operations that delay schedules and modify schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Undergraduate degree in business or a related field (or equivalent experience and education).
• 2 to 5 years of production planning or related experience.
• Certification and/or license may be required during employment.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems.
• Understanding of planning and production methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of plant processes related to production lines.
• Analytical thinking skills.
• Ability to problem solve, multi-task, and prioritize tasks.
• Effective interpersonal skills for positive interaction with others.
• Ability to conduct research into issues or situations.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
