Reporting directly to the Sr. Supply Chain Manager, the Production Planner is responsible for planning and scheduling production, managing inventory availability, and supporting on-time order fulfillment. The Production Planner partners with cross-functional teams to optimize material flow, maintain planning data accuracy, resolve supply issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives that drive operational performance. This is an on-site role in Orlando, FL.Key Responsibilities:Work with Value-stream Leads / Supervisor / Managers for planning / scheduling ordersVerify inventory – stock availability for open orders as well as orders in the backlogFocused engagement with specified Kanban processes, inventory levels, pull system requirements and their impact on actual production statusDevelops and upkeeps key planning and inventory analysis reportsPeriodic review of raw materials min/max levels and lead timesRoot cause analysis of inventory supply issuesReviews discrepancies in BOM’s and ensures accuracySupport Daily Management meetings to meet / exceed Operations KPIs (SQDIC)Possess a mindset of Continuous Improvement and lead/support Lean initiatives to improve systems/processes.Perform other tasks / job responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor / Manager.Great communication skills, both verbal and written – upstream and downstream (cross-functional).Other duties as assigned.ABOUT THE CANDIDATEOur ideal candidate brings the following knowledge and experience:Strong statistical and analytical backgroundProduction Planning experienceSelf-motivated with desire to improve processesGood communication skillsCross functional mentality with strong leadership skillsSIOP, inventory control, and forecasting experienceStrong understanding of ERP driven systems and processesMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or equivalent, 3-5+ years in Production Planning Experience.Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and supply chain management principles, preferably Microsoft D365, cycle counts, BOM's, item attributes.Be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Strong analytical skills with great attention to detail bringing a history of successful data analysis and advanced Excel proficiency.ABOUT THE COMPANYOcean Optics pioneered miniature spectrometers and delivers spectral solutions to researchers, OEMs, and industrial customers, also designs and builds industrial-grade photonics systems for material inspection, chemical identification, and quality assurance.At Ocean We Measure What Matters, and our Mission is to design precise photonics systems to solve customer measurement challenges to make the world safer, cleaner, and healthier.
