Job summary

Pacer Group is seeking a Production Planner in Odessa, TX for a 6-month contract with potential for full-time. The role supports maintenance planning to ensure equipment readiness and optimal utilization. Local candidates preferred with a day or night shift and 11 days on / 3 days off schedule.

Responsibilities include coordinating priorities, managing the receiving process, and maintaining accurate maintenance documentation while contributing to HSE and Lean initiatives.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in asset maintenance and sustaining.
• Experience in inventory management and distribution.
• Familiarity with maintenance processes/workflows and equipment tracking.

Responsibilities

• Plan maintenance activities for a designated location.
• Coordinate maintenance priorities with the Maintenance Manager and Supervisor.
• Manage the equipment receiving process and assess maintenance needs.
• Create shop reports for issues identified on arrival of equipment.
• Open repair work orders and maintain equipment service records.
• Organize equipment into work queues by priority and ops needs.
• Coordinate with Stores to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies.
• Supervise CMMS Clerks and Yard Crew where applicable.
• Assist with asset counting and equipment list management.
• Support HSE, continuous improvement, and LEAN initiatives.

Job Title: Production Planner

Location: Odessa, TX

Pay Rate: $22–$33/hr on W2

Employment Type: Contract (Potential for Full-time)

Duration: 6 months

Shift Options:

• Day Shift: 7 AM – 7 PM ($22-$30/hr on W2)
• Night Shift: 7PM-7AM ($25-$33/hr on W2)

Schedule: 11 days on / 3 days off, including every other Friday/Saturday/Sunday

Reimbursable Expenses: None – no mileage, housing, per diem, or relocation assistance

Job Summary

The Production Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating equipment maintenance activities to ensure equipment is available on time and aligned with operational requirements. This role supports equipment reliability, utilization, efficiency, and maintenance cost reduction.

Responsibilities

• Plan maintenance activities for a designated location.
• Coordinate maintenance priorities with the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, and Asset Coordinator.
• Manage the equipment receiving process, including identifying incoming equipment and assessing maintenance requirements.
• Create Shop Failure or Deficiency Reports for issues identified upon equipment arrival.
• Open repair work orders and maintain accurate equipment service documentation.
• Organize equipment into appropriate work queues based on priority and operational needs, including washing, test pit, and repair bays.
• Coordinate with Stores to ensure materials and supplies are delivered to workstations according to maintenance priorities.
• Supervise CMMS Clerks and Yard Crew personnel where applicable.
• Assist with asset counting and equipment list management.
• Support Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), continuous improvement, and LEAN initiatives.

Required Experience

• Equipment receiving, tracking, or maintenance coordination

Preferred Experience

• Work orders or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
