Job summary

Henrob Corporation in New Hudson, MI, is seeking a Production Planner to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials across departments according to the production schedule. You will review orders, manage schedules, and collaborate with Purchasing and Supply Chain to address shortages while reporting progress to the Production Manager.

This on-site role requires strong MRP/ERP experience (SAP preferred), BOMs, safety stock, and proficiency in Excel and Teams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 3+ years of material planning experience using an MRP/ERP system (SAP preferred) in a manufacturing environment; or a bachelor's degree in supply chain, Materials Management, Business, or related field with relevant internship/co-op experience; or equivalent ADH experience.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP, in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Strong understanding of MRP concepts, including BOMs, routings, safety stock, master data, and backflushing.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, raw materials, inventory management, and quality control principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate resources, manage priorities, and collaborate across Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Project Management teams.

Responsibilities

  • Create production schedules or communicate work orders to production and logistics departments with the goal of meeting customer deadlines.
  • Expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules while considering capacity, material availability and sales priorities.
  • Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, collaborating with Supply Chain Manager and Logistics.
  • Confer with team to coordinate production or shipping activities and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
  • Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, or quality control measures.
  • Calculate production rate/building time needed to be able to plan accordingly and track progress so that status updates can be given and recommend changes be made if necessary.
  • Compile and prepare documentation.
  • Communicate accurate Material Receipt Dates to project database.
  • Conduct required meetings based on business needs.
  • All other duties, as assigned.

Your role

As a Production Planner, your mission is to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to production schedule. You will review and distribute production orders, value add activities, and shipment schedules. You will coordinate with production team to determine progress of work and completion dates while updating Project Management on developments affecting projects. Additionally, this role will communicate with purchasing and supply chain to identify and neutralize material shortages and excess. You will report to the Production Manager, ADH.
