Job summary

Plansee Group in Franklin, MA, is seeking a Production Planner to manage the master schedule, material data, and production orders. The role collaborates with Sales, Production Scheduler, and Management to meet delivery commitments and resolve issues while ensuring ISO/AS9100 compliance and ITAR/EAR standards.

The ideal candidate has an associate/technical degree with 3+ years of planning experience, SAP R/3 Logistics expertise, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical degree in a related discipline.
• APICS certification a plus.
• Experience with SAP R/3 Logistics module for production planning.

Responsibilities

• Plan production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and optimize capacity.
• Maintain/set material master data and release cost estimates.
• Analyze and confirm sales orders with capacity planning via SAP and FastPro.
• Create production orders and communicate critical dates to affected departments.
• Monitor master schedule to ensure materials, manpower and resources availability.
• Set production order priorities with the Production Scheduler.
• Resolve production issues from exception messages and deltas.
• Serve as Sales contact for order status and schedule changes.
• Collaborate with Scheduler and Management to resolve problems.
• Investigate material shortages and initiate corrective action.
• Inform departments about completion dates and substitutions; interface professionally.
• Ensure ISO/AS9100 compliance and ITAR/EAR work compliance.

Mark and release cost estimates.Analyze, plan, and confirm sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements via SAP and FastPro.Review and plan new sales orders; create production orders; communicate critical dates to other departments as needed; provide timely confirmation of sales orders to the Sales department as per our marathon goals.Analyze the master schedule to ensure materials, manpower and resources are available to support the plan horizon.Establish production order priorities and work with the Production Scheduler to ensure priorities are maintained and executed to plan.Monitor exception messages and deltas and initiate changes to resolve production issues.Act as a point of contact for the Sales department on questions regarding order status updates and communicating changes in the schedule to the affected departments.Collaborate with Production Scheduler, and at times with Production Management to resolve production problems.Investigate and report the cause of critical material shortages and initiate corrective action as needed.Keep departments informed about completion dates, material changes or substitutions, and schedule modifications.Interface professionally with all departments, supervisors and managers as required.Ensure ISO/AS9100 compliance for all processes related to the purchasing, planning and execution of the production schedule, especially as they relate to ITAR/EAR work.QualificationsAssociates degree or other two year technical degree in a related discipline and three (3) years of related work experience. A combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
