Job summary

INDEPENDENT PRINTING & PACKAGING in De Pere, Wisconsin, is seeking a Production Planner to coordinate order entry and production scheduling, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across sales, account service, scheduling, and production teams. You will plan production operations, monitor material flow, manage deadlines, and work with suppliers to meet customer commitments.

This role requires organization, attention to detail, and strong math skills; prior four-color printing or sheet-fed experience

Qualifications

• Must be well organized and detail-oriented.
• Above-average math skills for planning and costing.
• Background in four-color process printing is a plus.
• Experience in sheet-fed printing industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gather all information and specifications needed to properly plan jobs.
• Enter orders, verify against inputs, complete job tickets, and communicate special instructions.

• Schedule use of production materials to achieve optimal production levels.
• Evaluate suppliers for quality and timeliness relative to goals.
• Monitor material supply flow and identify shortages or bottlenecks.
• Identify and resolve inventory-related issues.
• Forecast market challenges based on industry trends and competition.
• Address quality and production issues and manage deadlines.

INDEPENDENT PRINTING & PACKAGING HAS AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR A PRODUCTION PLANNER TO JOIN OUR PLANNING TEAM!

POSITION SUMMARY

The primary responsibilities of the Production Planner are to plan and enter orders for incoming print orders and ensure accuracy and timeliness of the production process. The production planner has a specific focus on the materials and goods required in the production process and will serve as a liaison between sales, account service, scheduling and production teams.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plans all necessary production operations and procedures according to estimate and ensure we’re using the most cost effective procedures while maintaining quality in the process
• Obtain all necessary information and specifications required to properly plan jobs.
• Order entry, to include- comparing orders received against orders entered, complete job tickets and supply the information needed in the production process according to the specifications for the job, audit printed job tickets for completeness, accuracy and ensures that special instructions are communicated effectively.
• Work closely with scheduling, service and sales team to establish timelines and ensure customer commitments are met.
• Schedule usage of production materials to ensure optimal production levels
• Evaluate suppliers regarding quality, timeliness and match according to company, customer and production goals
• Monitor material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage
• Identify and resolve problems relating to inventory
• Forecast market challenges based on competitor analysis and industry trends
• Address issues regarding quality and production
• Manage deadlines based on project expectations

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience in the sheet fed printing industry

SCHEDULE

Full-time, Hourly, Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm

STARTING WAGE

This is an hourly position and beginning wage will be in line with experience.
